View as MarkdownUse project settings to manage your website, connected tools, forms, privacy, access, and billing. These settings belong to the project you've selected. Your personal details and account-level tools live in Your account instead.
Choose Project settings, the gear beside your name at the bottom of the sidebar, to open General. You can also choose Project settings in the project switcher. Back to app returns you to the dashboard.
Find the setting you need
| If you'd like to… | Open | What you'll find |
|---|---|---|
| Rename the project, find its ID, or set its time zone | General | Project name, Project ID with a copy button, your main Website, Timezone, Dashboard focus, and Delete this project. See find your project ID and set the project time zone. |
| Install RightMessage or manage your websites | Website & install | The install snippet for your Live site or Staging & development, installation status, Domains, Exclude this browser, and a link to version history. See domain management. |
| Choose where your hosted pages live | Page domains | Your RightMessage subdomain and an optional custom domain. Website & install also has Scripts on hosted pages. See page domains. |
| Connect another tool | Integrations | Tabs for Email platform (including Lead attribution), Analytics, Connected apps, and Webhooks. Connections belong to this project, not your whole login. |
| Change how forms and widgets behave | Forms & widgets | Thank-you and submitting text, email pre-fill, Email Watcher, the "Powered by RightMessage" badge, Cloudflare Turnstile Bot protection, and JavaScript after a form submits. |
| Control tracking and your project's data | Privacy & data | Cookie consent, Stop collecting rules, Hide people from analytics, Export data, and Reset analytics data. See data controls. |
| Tell AI about your business | AI context | Audience, value proposition, offerings, brand style, and related business context. See AI context. |
| Give someone project access | Collaborators | Invitations and member removal. Only the project owner sees it. |
| Manage your subscription | Plan & billing | The selected project's plan, if it uses per-project billing and you can manage it. |
If you don't see an owner-only page, the sidebar tells you who manages billing and collaborators. Ask the owner to handle collaborators, billing, or data reset.
Set the project time zone
Timezone in the Project section of General decides where each reporting day starts and ends. New projects use America/New_York. Search the list for your city or region, such as Europe/London, and choose it. The change saves on its own and doesn't need publishing.
The time zone applies to:
- The dashboard and every date range in the app's reports, such as Website stats, flow and widget analytics, campaign and question results, and Revenue Overview. A day runs from midnight to midnight in the project's time zone, whatever time zone your computer uses.
- The Friday weekly report, which covers the last seven complete days in that time zone.
Everyone who opens the project sees the same days. Nightly totals already recorded keep the time zone they were recorded in, so a comparison that spans a time zone change can be off by a few hours.
The setting doesn't change when report emails are sent. Those times stay fixed in the America/New_York time zone. It also doesn't affect date conditions, which use each visitor's own clock.
Connect your tools
Open Project settings > Integrations and choose a tab.
| If you'd like to… | Use | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Connect your email platform or CRM | Email platform | Connect one email platform to sync leads. Lead attribution on the same tab saves where each lead came from into fields on your platform. |
| Send events to analytics tools | Analytics | Switches for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Fathom Analytics, and PostHog. They change your draft. Publish to apply them to your website. |
| Connect another app | Connected apps | Choose Connect or Manage connection for an app such as Senja. Connection changes happen right away, separately from publishing. |
| Verify webhook requests | Webhooks | The Signing secret your server uses to check requests. Projects without webhooks on their plan see the plan requirement. |
Connected means the connection is set up. To check that contacts or events reach the other tool, follow how integrations work, your provider's setup article, and integration testing.
In the demo, connection controls show a demo warning instead of saving credentials. They don't connect real integrations.
Choose a snippet and check your install
In Website & install, the Install snippet section shows one snippet at a time.
Live site is the code to add as the first script in the <head> of every page on your live site. Visitors get your last published version, and analytics are recorded. If the section says "After your next publish, copy this snippet again", your project hasn't published since the snippet started removing RightMessage's URL parameters, such as _rm, before your analytics and ad tags read them. Publish, then copy it again. See the snippet reference.
Staging & development is the code for a staging or development copy of your site. It always runs your latest changes, published or not, and records no analytics. Never add it to your live site. Switching between them changes the code shown, not your project.
The status at the top of the page shows whether RightMessage has received data: RightMessage is installed with the time data last arrived, Waiting for your first pageview, or No data for a number of days. Until data is arriving, choose Check now to check again.
Version history shows when you last published. Choose Open version history to review or restore an earlier version. See version history.
Follow installation and first setup before using the live snippet.
Privacy settings
Wait for consent before tracking is in Privacy & data, under Cookie consent. It works on every plan.
"RightMessage stores nothing in the browser, runs no tests and sends no stats until the visitor accepts cookies. Tests show Control until then." Form submissions, email platform lookups, webhooks and email steps still run. It reads TCF v2.2 consent banners and Google Consent Mode, or your banner can call RM.push(['consent', 'grant']). Publish to apply it. If you use RightMessage Edge, update to @rightmessage/cloudflare or @rightmessage/next 0.3.0 or later and redeploy first: older Workers stop personalizing the site until they're redeployed. See use RightMessage with a cookie banner.
Exclude this browser is in Website & install, under This browser. It opens your primary domain with #rm_exclude=1 at the end, and that browser stops counting in analytics on this site. Do it once in each browser you use. Opening the debugger does this too. Until you add a domain, the setting says "Add your website's domain first."
Check this browser, below it, opens your primary domain with #rm_exclude=check. A notice on your site says whether this browser is excluded, without changing it. See exclude test visitors.
Collaborator invitation limits
Current Grow, Scale, and Pro plans don't cap the number of collaborators. Invitation safety limits still apply, using rolling windows.
| Limit | Restricted account | Standard account |
|---|---|---|
| Invitations per sender per hour | 3 | 20 |
| Invitations per sender per day | 5 | 50 |
| Invitations per project per day | 5 | 50 |
| Invitations from the same IP address per hour | 5 | 30 |
Restricted accounts include unverified accounts, accounts less than seven days old, and projects without a paid subscription. If you hit a limit, follow the message and wait before trying again. Repeated blocked attempts can lead to suspension.
An unverified account can send two invitations to external recipients before email verification is required. A different email domain counts as external. Addresses at a shared mailbox provider count as external even when they match your domain.
Verification links last 24 hours, and you can request up to three per hour. An existing member or a pending invitation to the same address blocks another invitation.
An invitation is unavailable after seven days or while the project is suspended. An expired link needs a fresh invitation from the owner. A suspended project needs support.
Find your personal settings
Choose your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar to open Your account. It has Profile, Sign-in & security, Notifications, Preferences, Projects, Organizations, API & AI access, and Affiliate. Accounts on a legacy account-wide plan also see Billing. Agency accounts get an Agency group with Agency profile, Clients & invitations, and Affiliate.
See profile settings, organizations, API tokens, or AI authorization for those account-level tasks.
Know when to publish
Each settings section shows how its changes save:
- Sections that reach your website show Goes live once you next publish after an edit, and Live now once your published site has those values. That covers Domains, Lead attribution, everything in Forms & widgets, Cookie consent, and Stop collecting. Publish to apply them.
- Project details in General and AI context save on their own. You'll see Saving…, Saved, or Couldn't save with Retry. Bot protection keys save on their own too, but only reach your website when you publish.
- Actions such as hiding a person, inviting or removing a collaborator, connecting an app, exporting data, or resetting analytics happen right away.
