RightMessage
The plain facts

What RightMessage is, who it's for, and what it costs.

RightMessage is website personalization software with built-in A/B testing for marketing teams, paid traffic teams, and agencies. Add one script to the site you already have, and it changes what each visitor sees based on the ad they clicked, what they do, and what they tell you.

This page sticks to what the product does today, what it costs, and where its limits are.

Key takeaways

  • RightMessage is website personalization software with built-in A/B testing.
  • It's built for marketing teams, paid traffic teams, and agencies that run sites for clients.
  • It sits on top of the stack you already have and adapts your pages for each visitor in real time, so you don't rebuild your site. If you want us to host a page, like a quick quiz page for ad traffic, Pages builds one with personalization built in.
  • Anonymous visitors can be personalized from ad and campaign context, behavior, and quiz answers. CRM and email data only applies after someone is identified.
  • Pricing is per project: Grow $99/mo, or $79/mo billed annually, Scale $249/mo, or $199/mo billed annually, and Pro $499/mo, or $399/mo billed annually. There are no per-visitor or contact fees.
  • Your first project gets a 14-day trial with every Pro feature, and you don't need a card.
Audience

Marketing teams, paid traffic teams, and agencies.

Marketing teams
Teams that sell to more than one kind of buyer and want one website to speak to each of them, instead of writing for the average visitor.
Paid traffic teams
Teams running ads that want the landing page to continue the ad's message, without building and maintaining a separate page for every ad.
Agencies
Agencies that run websites, ads, email, or conversion work for clients and want to add personalization to what they sell. Clients can sign up through the agency, and the agency's team opens every client project from its own login.
Mechanism

It changes the pages you already have.

You pick the elements, and RightMessage changes them for each audience: headlines, supporting copy, images, testimonials, forms, calls to action, or whole sections you've already built. You write every version, so visitors only ever see copy you approved.

It can also add things to the page: quizzes, surveys, forms, popups, and on-site calls to action that ask a question and route people to the right next step.

Every change saves as a draft. Nothing reaches your live site until you publish.

Data

You can personalize before you know who someone is.

Anonymous visitors

Don't have a list yet? That's fine. You can personalize a first visit without knowing who someone is, using campaign context and UTM parameters, the referral source, pages viewed, device data, and on-site behavior. Quiz and survey answers people give on your site work too.

Identified contacts

A visitor becomes a known contact only after an identification event:

  • They submit a RightMessage form or flow.
  • They submit a supported third-party form the snippet can detect. Custom or unsupported forms aren't detected by default. Email Watcher is an optional setting that picks up emails submitted through forms on your site.
  • They click an identifying link in one of your marketing emails.
  • The page they land on has an email query parameter.
  • An integration-specific path from the help docs, like the Intercom Messenger cookie or the Bento JavaScript snippet.

After that, the browser is remembered until cookies are cleared. Another device isn't merged automatically. It's recognized once that device is identified too. Tags, fields, and purchase data from your email platform or CRM only apply after identification, and only when that integration is on your plan.

Testing

Test the page everyone sees and each audience's changes.

You can test the page everyone sees and each audience's changes, with plain-language weekly verdicts. It's not an enterprise experimentation suite.

What you can test
The Original page (what visitors see when no audience matches) with a Control and up to three variants, and each audience's changes with a Control and up to three challengers. Splits can be even or custom.
Holdback
One per campaign, 10% of visitors by default, so you can see what personalization did.
Verdicts
Checked weekly, in plain language. The earliest is at the week 2 check, about three weeks after you start, and it needs at least 20 visitors who converted and 20 who didn't in every version. Verdicts can take months, or may not come.
You decide
Tests never end on their own. You pick the version to keep.
Plans
Question, form, offer, and flow split tests are on every plan. Campaign holdbacks start on Scale. Page and audience A/B tests are on Pro.

What it doesn't do: multivariate tests, split-URL or redirect tests, server-side SDKs or feature flags, bandits, real-time significance, automatic winner rollout, or heatmaps and session recordings.

Trial

Try every Pro feature for 14 days without a card.

You don't need a card to sign up. Every no-card trial gets every Pro feature for 14 days, whichever plan you picked. The plan you confirm with a card only decides what's charged when the trial ends, and nothing is charged before then. If you don't confirm a plan, the trial ends and the project locks until you choose one.

Each organization gets one trial, on its first billed project. Projects after that are charged when you set up their billing. Agency organizations don't get a trial. Their new projects start as demo projects you can build and preview, and a plan you choose is charged right away. A client who signs up through an agency's link enters a card at signup and gets the 14-day trial.

Compatibility

Keep the email platform, CRM, and site you already use.

You don't need an email platform or CRM to personalize for anonymous visitors. Connect one when a campaign needs contact data. Email and CRM integrations depend on the plan (see the table above). The GA4, Google Tag Manager, and PostHog apps work on every plan, and RightMessage works with the CMS, website builder, or landing page tool you already use.

AI

AI can draft the changes. You decide what goes live.

Righty, the assistant in the app, drafts versions, sets up tests, and reads verdicts. It never starts, restarts, or ends a test, and it never publishes.

The RightMessage MCP server lets AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude work in your project. MCP access is included with every plan. Changes made through MCP save as drafts, and publishing is a separate, explicit step.

How the MCP server works
Boundaries

Where RightMessage stops.

It's easier to pick the right tool when you know where each one stops, so here are ours.

A full page builder or CMS
It adapts the pages you've built in your CMS or landing page builder. Pages can also build and host simple landing pages with personalization built in, but it doesn't replace your CMS or page builder for the rest of your site.
Creator and list tools
Quizzes and forms are part of it, but the job is changing what your website shows each visitor.
Enterprise experimentation
It runs client-side page and audience tests with weekly verdicts. If you need multivariate tests, server-side experiments, or feature flags, you want a different tool.
Anonymous identification
It only names people after they identify themselves. It doesn't look up anonymous visitors by IP address.
Company

Built by Brennan Dunn since 2018.

Brennan Dunn founded RightMessage. It launched publicly on January 23, 2018, and Teachable was its first customer. It started with full-site personalization and grew to cover segmentation, quizzes, surveys, and AI analysis of that data.
