Cancel a subscription

You'll cancel your project or legacy subscription through the billing portal and check when the cancellation takes effect.

You can cancel your subscription from your billing page and check exactly when it ends. Cancel plan asks you to confirm, then opens the billing portal's cancellation flow. Deleting a project or signing out doesn't cancel billing.

Choose the subscription you want to cancel

You need the owner or billing-manager permission. Select the project first.

Current subscriptions apply to individual projects. A legacy account-wide subscription can cover several projects. Check which projects the subscription covers before canceling it.

Cancel in the billing portal

  1. For per-project billing, open Project settings (the gear at the bottom of the sidebar), then Plan & billing. For legacy account billing, open Your account (the avatar at the bottom of the sidebar), then Billing instead.
  2. Under Danger zone, choose Cancel plan when it's available. It says when billing stops: at the end of the current period.
  3. In the confirmation, which names the plan and the project (or your account), choose Cancel plan. The billing portal opens.
  4. Review the subscription, cancellation terms, and effective date shown in the portal, then confirm cancellation there if the details are correct.
  5. Return to billing and check that the subscription state has updated.

Manage billing can open only a payment-method update screen on accounts with a fixed non-renewing trial. It is not always an alternative cancellation route.

Opening the portal isn't cancellation. Keep the portal's confirmation and effective date for your records.

When the subscription ends, paid features such as campaigns and campaign A/B tests come off your live site automatically. Your draft keeps them, so you can publish them again if you come back.

If you don't see Cancel plan

The Cancel plan row isn't shown for a non-renewing trial, a subscription already scheduled to end, a canceled subscription, or an expired incomplete subscription.

A no-card trial ends without charging you unless you confirm a plan, so there's nothing to cancel. A saved card alone doesn't confirm one. Check billing states before trying to cancel a subscription that doesn't renew.

Remove RightMessage from your site if you're finished

Cancellation isn't Delete project in Project settings > General, and it isn't Reset analytics in Project settings > Privacy & data. Don't use either destructive action as a substitute for canceling billing. You'll also need to cancel any plan that's still billing before you can delete your account.

Review any site setup you no longer intend to use. When you retire RightMessage from that site, ask the website or tag-manager owner who installed the snippet to remove it.

If cancellation fails or the portal shows an unexpected subscription, follow billing troubleshooting. A support request or a closed ticket is not proof that cancellation or a refund has been completed.
