Export project data or reset analytics
Download your business context and segmentation data, or clear your project's reporting history while keeping its settings.
Updated
View as MarkdownYou can download what RightMessage knows about your business and audience, or clear your project's analytics without deleting its settings. Both actions are in Project settings > Privacy & data, but the download isn't a backup of the analytics you'd delete.
Download your business and audience data
Select the project you'd like to export.
- Open Project settings (the gear at the bottom of the sidebar), then Privacy & data.
- Under Export data, find AI context and audience data and choose Download data.
Your export opens in a new tab as JSON. It includes your AI context, your audience breakdown, and raw voice-of-customer answers.
It isn't a complete account backup or an export of every visitor record. You can't use it to restore deleted analytics.
Keep test visits out of your reports
If you're trying to exclude an early testing period, use the report's date filter instead of deleting history. To hide a known tester, use Hide people from analytics in Privacy & data, if your plan includes it. See exclude test visitors.
To avoid recording future test visits, add a Stop collecting rule in Privacy & data before your next test and publish it.
Clear your analytics history
You'll need permission to reset data, usually as the project owner. Without it, you won't see the reset option.
- Check the project name to make sure you're in the right project.
- Open Project settings > Privacy & data.
- At the bottom of the page, find Reset analytics data and choose Reset analytics.
- Read the confirmation. It deletes every visitor, response and stat in the project, while flows, widgets and settings stay.
- Type the project name to confirm, then choose Reset analytics. Or close the dialog to keep your history.
A successful reset shows Analytics reset for your project name. The reset covers pageviews, answers, offer and campaign activity, visitor activity, the data used in visitor reports, and the visits lead alerts checked, including their alerts. Your project's configuration, including lead alert rules, stays in place.
If the reset fails, the dialog shows an error and nothing is confirmed. Check your reports afterward, and contact support if you're unsure whether the reset finished or you find remaining data.
The reset doesn't remove contacts from your email platform or CRM, and it isn't confirmation that personal data has been erased from every storage system. Contact support for a data-erasure request.
If you'd like to remove the whole project instead, see project deletion.
