Every project has its own subscription. Your organization gets one 14-day trial, on its first project. Use this page to see what your trial includes, how to keep a project running after it, and what each billing status means. Your login, a saved card, a trial, and permission to publish are separate things. Saving a card alone doesn't confirm a plan.

Find your billing page

If your account uses…OpenWhat's covered
Current per-project billingProject settings (the gear at the bottom of the sidebar), then Plan & billingEach project has its own subscription. Creating another project does not include it in an existing payment.
Legacy account-wide billingYour account (the avatar at the bottom of the sidebar), then BillingThe owner's subscription covers their projects under that account's actual limits.

Only one of these pages appears for your account. You'll need permission to manage billing to see Plan & billing or change a subscription. If you're a collaborator without that permission, Project settings says who manages billing, and RightMessage can ask you to contact the owner or switch projects.

Which projects get a trial

ProjectTrial
Your organization's first projectA 14-day trial that starts when you sign up. The ordinary signup doesn't need a card.
Each project you add after thatNo trial. Right after you create it, you choose the plan and card, and the plan is charged when you confirm billing.
A project on legacy account-wide billing, or a free accountThere's no separate trial. The owner's existing subscription or free account covers it, so the billing step doesn't appear.
A project in an agency organizationNo trial. See below.

The trial belongs to the organization, not to you. If no project in the organization has had a subscription yet, the next one you set up still gets a 14-day trial. Accounts on legacy pricing keep a trial for each project.

If a new project's billing setup didn't finish, the project has no plan yet. You can keep building in it, and publishing asks you to set up its billing first.

New projects in an agency organization start as agency demo projects, with no plan. You can build and preview them, but they can't go live until you choose a plan for them. Agency organizations never get a trial. Each project your agency pays for is billed with the agency discount, currently 20% off. A client organization your agency brought in pays full price for its own projects. When you hand a project off to a client, they pay for it at full price on the plan you chose, and your agency's subscription for it ends with a credit for the unused time.

What your trial includes

A trial from the ordinary no-card signup gets every Pro feature until its deadline, whichever plan you picked. The plan only decides what you'll be charged when the trial ends, and only once you confirm it with a card. So you can build and publish campaigns, campaign A/B tests, and everything else while you try RightMessage.

If you don't confirm a plan before the deadline, the trial ends. Publishing is blocked and the account is locked until you add a card. Everything you built stays saved.

A trial you start with a card uses the plan you chose for it.

Free accounts, lifetime deals, and projects with complimentary access never show trial status or the trial billing dialog, and RightMessage never charges a trial left over on them.

Keep RightMessage running after your trial

The Keep RightMessage running after your trial dialog is where you choose the plan to pay for and add your card, without leaving the page you're on.

It opens on its own once: right after a trial project's first successful publish, in place of the usual Successfully published your changes! message, for the owner or a billing manager whose no-card trial doesn't have a confirmed plan yet. A Published. line at the top says where your new changes appear, or that they'll appear once your snippet is installed.

You can open it again whenever you like from:

  • The trial status card in the sidebar.
  • Plan & billing, with Enable paid renewal (or Resume activation for a confirmed activation that's waiting for payment).
  • The plan buttons on the upgrade page.
  • The Your trial ends in N days row in the publish review during your trial's last three days.
  • The dashboard card that appears after your trial ends.

In your trial's last days, the dialog's title counts down instead, such as Your trial ends in 2 days or Your trial ends today.

What you'll seeWhat it means
Choose your planThe cheapest plan that covers what you've built is selected for you, which is Grow unless your setup needs more. If you picked a plan on the pricing page or in the signup plan chooser, that plan is selected instead. Monthly or Annual (Save 20%) changes the billing cycle.
Plan badgesYou picked this marks the plan you chose when you signed up. Otherwise, Covers your setup marks Grow, or Needed for your setup marks the Scale or Pro plan your setup needs.
A warning such as On Grow, these switch off on Nov 2:Appears when the selected plan doesn't include something you've built, and names each item, such as a campaign, conversion goals, an email platform sync, a running A/B test, or email and webhook steps in a flow. Switch to plan selects the plan that covers them.
Card detailsEnter a card, or choose Use saved card with its last four digits. Use a different card opens the card form.
No charge todayNothing is charged until your trial ends. It shows your first charge and its date.
The authorization checkboxRequired. It names the amount, plan, start date, and monthly or yearly renewal until you cancel.

Choose Continue with plan to confirm. You'll see You're all set. with the date your plan starts, and the sidebar shows Your RightMessage plan starts on date. Your project keeps every Pro feature until then. Not now closes the dialog without changing anything.

After the deadline, the dialog is titled Pick up where you left off. Choosing a plan charges it today, the button reads Pay amount and continue, and no new trial starts. Anything your plan doesn't include stays off.

Confirming a plan doesn't publish your draft on its own. If you opened the dialog by trying to publish after your trial ended, the publish continues once your plan is active.

The upgrade page shows the same plans. During a trial without a confirmed plan, it's titled Keep RightMessage after your trial, no plan is marked current, and each Choose plan button opens the dialog with that plan selected. After you confirm, the page shows the plan you'll be billed for as current.

Trial status in the sidebar

While a project's trial is running, a card above your name at the bottom of the sidebar shows where it stands. When the sidebar is collapsed, it's an icon instead, and on a phone it's in the navigation drawer. The top bar doesn't show trial status.

What the card saysWhat it means
N days left in your trialDays are counted in calendar days. The card turns amber in the last three days. Its button reads Enter your card details, or Confirm your plan if a card is already saved, and opens the trial billing dialog.
Your trial ends todayThe last day of the trial.
Your trial ended dateThe trial ended without a confirmed plan. The card says Your account is locked and RightMessage changes to your website no longer work.
Your RightMessage plan starts on dateA plan is confirmed, or the trial was started with a card. There's nothing you need to do. Owners and billing managers can choose the card to see Billing is set, the first charge and its date, and Manage in Billing →.
Trial · N days leftYou're a collaborator without billing access. The card names the project owner, who can set up billing.

When your trial ends without a plan

If a no-card trial ends without a confirmed plan, the dashboard is replaced by a card that says Your trial ended on date, followed by Your account is locked and RightMessage changes on your domain no longer work. Everything you built is saved. It counts what you built during the trial, such as flows, widgets, and questions.

Locked until you add a card:

  • RightMessage changes on your domain
  • Publishing changes
  • Paid features in the editor and AI-agent (MCP) access

Saved and waiting:

  • Everything you built, plus your settings
  • Everything switches back on as soon as billing is set

Owners and billing managers can choose Enter your card details (or Confirm your plan when a card is saved) to open the trial billing dialog. Collaborators see who can set up billing.

Lead alerts shows how many people lead alerts have alerted you about this billing month and the project's lead alerts volume, which is billed separately from your plan. Only the owner or a billing manager sees it. Change your lead alerts volume explains its controls.

Cancel plan appears under Danger zone only for a subscription that renews and isn't already ending, canceled, or incomplete-expired. It asks you to confirm, then opens the billing portal's cancellation flow, not the downgrade dialog.

Billing during signup

The ordinary signup offers 14 days without a credit card. You don't need to find a card form or a three-plan chooser when this offer is shown. A plan you picked on the pricing page is preselected. Otherwise, the selection is Grow with monthly billing. Either way, the trial includes every Pro feature, and you're not charged unless you confirm a plan with a card.

Some signup links and partner offers include billing. After the password step, Next opens the available plan and payment choices.

If you'd like to…What to check or choose
Review a preselected planCheck the plan, price, trial terms, and billing interval. Change opens the chooser when it's available.
Choose a planChoose Monthly billing or Yearly billing, then Grow, Scale, or Pro. Yearly billing shows a monthly equivalent and the actual yearly total.
Enter payment detailsUse Billing information. If the secure card form fails to load, choose Retry secure payment form.
Finish signupRead the terms, then click Start trial for ordinary card-based signup, or the action named by your partner offer. Complete any security or bank-authentication step.
Go back before submittingBack returns to the password step.

A partner offer can fix or change the available selection. It isn't a discount that applies to every new account. If pricing fails to load, use Retry pricing. Read a payment error before submitting again.

A no-card trial doesn't renew merely because you later save a card. You confirm a plan in the trial billing dialog.

Set up billing for a new project

A billing dialog opens right after you create a project. It shows Choose your plan with Monthly or Annual, unless your offer fixes those choices, and Card details, where you can use your saved card or enter a different one. This dialog can't be dismissed until billing is confirmed. You can change the plan later from Plan & billing.

What the dialog says depends on whether the project gets a trial:

The projectDialog titleWhat it showsButton
Gets a trialStart your 14-day trialNo charge today and $0 today · 14-day trial. The trial starts once billing is confirmed.Start 14-day trial
Doesn't get a trialStart this project's planAmount today and amount charged today, explaining that only an organization's first project gets a free trial.Pay amount and start

Confirming the second version charges the plan right away. In an agency organization, the amount includes your agency discount.

Choose a plan when you publish

If a project has no plan when you publish it, the publish review offers the plan step before it publishes:

  • A project that gets a trial shows Going live starts your 14-day trial and Start trial & publish. The plan dialog, Start your free trial to go live, says your card won't be charged for 14 days, and its button is Start 14-day trial & publish.
  • A project that doesn't get a trial shows Going live starts this project's plan and Choose a plan & publish. The plan dialog, Choose a plan to go live, shows amount charged today, and its button is Pay amount & publish. For an agency project, it notes that agency projects are billed from the start and the amount includes your agency discount.

Either way, the button publishes your reviewed changes once billing succeeds. The confirmation says Your trial has started and your changes are now live! or Your plan has started and your changes are now live!

What happens to live features when your plan drops

Your plan can drop when a trial ends on a lower plan than Pro, when a trial ends without a confirmed plan, or when you downgrade or cancel. When it does, RightMessage automatically takes features the new plan doesn't include off your live site:

  • Without Scale or Pro, campaigns and conversion goals come off the live site.
  • Without Pro, running campaign A/B tests stop on the live site.
  • Published Pages stay live on every plan. Without Scale or Pro, audiences on a page come off it, and without Pro, running page A/B tests stop.

Your draft keeps all of it, so nothing you built is lost. If you upgrade again, publish to put those features back on your site. Email and webhook steps in flows don't run on a plan without Pro.

Publishing works the same way: anything your plan doesn't include stays in your draft and doesn't go live, while the rest of your changes publish normally. Starting or restarting a campaign A/B test needs Pro. Question, form, offer, and flow split tests are on every plan.

A failed renewal payment never removes anything from your live site, even while the payment needs attention. We email the account's billing owner each time a project's payment fails, even when your other projects are paid up. The email names the amount, the plan, the project, and the invoice number, and links to updating your payment method. See billing troubleshooting to fix it.

Retry an activation without paying twice

If a confirmed activation fails, RightMessage keeps the plan you confirmed.

  1. When Pay existing invoice securely is available, open it to pay the existing invoice.
  2. After paying, return to RightMessage.
  3. Choose Retry confirmed activation to check the payment status.

Retry billing details reloads unavailable billing choices. If the invoice link is missing, retry to retrieve it or contact billing support. Don't create another project or subscription to pay the same confirmed activation.

Check visitor usage on a legacy subscription

Account-wide Billing page for a legacy Personalize plan with Change plan, Manage billing, visitor usage across owned projects and invoicesOriginal
Account-wide Billing page for a legacy Personalize plan with Change plan, Manage billing, visitor usage across owned projects and invoices

On a legacy plan, Usage shows Estimated monthly visitors, a rolling 30-day average across all the owner's projects, and lists the Projects on this plan. It also shows when the billing period started, visitors this period, average daily visitors, projected visitors this month, and a chart. These visitor figures price legacy plans only. They aren't a charge on current per-project plans, and legacy project-count limits aren't limits on how many separately billed projects a current account can create.

See plan management to make changes, or billing troubleshooting if a payment still needs attention.
