RightMessage vs ScoreApp
An Honest Comparison for Creators, Coaches & Marketers
We often get asked about how RightMessage differs from ScoreApp. And we have quite a few customers who use both RightMessage and ScoreApp.
While complementary in a lot of respects, there are some big differences between each platform. If you've been eyeing RightMessage and are a current ScoreApp customer, then we hope this honest assessment of the features and use cases of each platform will help you make an informed decision.
(And ditto if you're a customer of RightMessage and you're investigating ScoreApp.)
The 60-Second Summary
RightMessage is designed to be a holistic, "start to finish" platform for personalizing how you market your products/services. ScoreApp is designed to help you generate more qualified leads.
Here's where things get murky: RightMessage can be used as a quiz platform, which means building out sophisticated and personalized "scorecards" with RightMessage is something many of our customers do.
Here's where we think ScoreApp makes sense:
You don't want your quiz funnel to be a part of your website (i.e. it'll exist on a subdomain that you drive traffic to)
You're looking to have something you can point people to. These people become a lead, answer a few questions, and then see a results page with some customizations on it. (Think: you're a coach and looking to qualify leads from Facebook.)
You're not looking to really build a lot of automated, personalized messaging and you'd rather keep things simple. You may or might not have an actual website. You want ScoreApp to be your lead generation page, your quiz, and your post-quiz confirmation page.
You tend to use words like "clients" instead of "customers" (i.e. lower volume)
Here's what RightMessage does differently:
Quiz funnels ("scorecards") are just one thing we do. We do a lot. Personalized lead magnets, popups, and more on your existing website. Automatically segmenting visitors to your site based on ad channel, on-site behavior, and more. Showing targeted on-site offers based on who should buy what. Setting up subscriber segmentation surveys and quizzes. Fully personalizing your website or landing page's content.
You're looking to augment your existing site. Maybe you want to run your quiz embedded on your home page? Or you want to have it on a dedicated landing page that you control, and that you have fully design flexibility with?
From the perspetive of quiz funnels, you're looking to create complex, non-linear flows that can take into account a lot of context, for example: "Change Question 2 if the person doing the quiz is on our list and tagged 'Customer'. Oh, and if they have viewed our pricing page in the last week, let's also add another question for them to answer about pricing..."
Consider using both if:
You're very happy with ScoreApp, or already have it set up. RightMessage can "read" from data ScoreApp sent up to your email platform or CRM, so your sales pages could be personalized using the segment data it collected for you.
You have a very clear cut set of quiz requirements: basic landing page, basic quiz funnel, basic results page. It will be easier to set that up in ScoreApp, since you won't need to worry about creating your own landing pages on your website. However, if you're looking to personalize email campaigns and your website, once again - we can pull down the data ScoreApp set.

Understanding Each Platform
What is ScoreApp?
ScoreApp is a specialized quiz and assessment builder founded by Steven Oddy and Daniel Priestley. ScoreApp has successfully carved out a niche in scored assessments for B2B service providers.
What is RightMessage?
RightMessage is a unified personalization and segmentation platform that helps creators and marketers deliver the right message to the right person at the right time across their entire website, not just within quizzes. It was created by Brennan Dunn, and the approach the platform takes is that it's a suite of power tools that allow customers to fully personalize every facet of their marketing with zero coding required.
Detailed Feature Comparison
Quiz & Assessment Capabilities
ScoreApp's Approach:
9 question types including sliding scales, divided scales, and image-based questions
Category-specific scoring with configurable tiers
"Logic hop" routing to different questions based on previous answers
AI quiz builder to help generate new quiz questions from scratch
30+ templates for common assessment types
Data is synced up to your ESP/CRM after completion of the quiz
Dynamic results pages with score-based content variations
Automatic PDF report generation (Business plan+) branded to your company
RightMessage's Approach:
Multiple-choice questions with single-select and multi-select options, along with input fields - like freeform text input, numeric inputs, etc.
Question flows are inherently non-linear. Like in your email platform's automation builder, you design a workflow that routes people to different questions or outcomes based on previous answers
Conditional routing based on question responses, and behavioral data (page views on your site, original ad campaign, data within your ESP/CRM if the visitor is already a contact, etc.)
Ability to personalize the wording of your questions based on data from within your ESP/CRM, or based on a previous question's answer
Data is synced up to your ESP/CRM in realtime as questions are answered, and if someone returns to a half-completed quiz you have the option of having them start where they left off
Focus on progressive profiling: asking only what you don't already know
Results drive personalized content across entire website and in email campaigns, not just quiz pages
Website Personalization
ScoreApp's Approach:
Personalization limited to quiz results pages
Dynamic content blocks based on score tiers and answer combinations
No ability to personalize content outside of the quiz results page (e.g. a sales / product page)
RightMessage's Approach:
Point-and-click editor personalizes ANY content on your website (quiz results page, your homepage, your pricing page, product pages, ...)
Change headlines, testimonials, images, CTAs, entire sections dynamically
Personalize based on visitor segments, email data, content consumption, and on-site behavior
Built-in A/B testing of personalized content
Works across your entire site regardless of platform (WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, custom builds)
While you could use ScoreApp to capture the lead and segment, and then have RightMessage use that data to personalize - it's often overkill.
Landing Pages & Form Builders
ScoreApp's Approach:
Full landing page builder included in all plans
Unlimited landing pages per account
Custom domains (Business plan+)
Pages designed specifically for quiz promotion
No lead generation outside of getting someone into a quiz funnel
RightMessage's Approach:
"Bring your own landing page" - our forms and lead gen tools work on your existing site
Outside of quiz funnels, we include all the usual lead generation tools you'd expect: form embeds, exit popups, sticky bars, and more
Forms can be automatically personalized based on contextual data, like the kind of content someone's reading
Can display targeted CTAs, like product recommendations, instead of opt-in forms when subscribers or known contacts are back on your website
While RightMessage doesn't have a built-in landing page platform, we don't really want to ever become a landing page tool. There are some great products out there, including many of the popular page builders, that make creating beautiful landing pages easy. We'd rather you just drop our forms onto those pages, and have our personalization editor personalize their content.
Email Platform/CRM Integration & Data Sync
ScoreApp's Approach:
Integrations with all of the popular email marketing platforms / CRMs
1-way sync: quiz and lead data flows TO your CRM
Audience segmentation feature (Business tier+) maps quiz answers to CRM tags
Field mapping passes quiz responses to CRM custom fields
Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics 4, and LinkedIn Insight Tag for tracking
No ability to personalize quizzes based on existing CRM data (like conditionally showing a set of questions based on tags attached to a known contact)
RightMessage's Approach:
Integrations with all of the popular email marketing platforms / CRMs
2-way bidirectional sync: reads contact data to personalize and "route" people to the right questions/forms/content, writes segmentation and quiz data as captured
Identifies website visitors as known contacts automatically
Pulls tags, custom fields, list membership to segment in real-time
Syncs segmentation, UTM parameters, and behavioral data back to ESP
Eliminates need for separate CDP (saving $2K-20K+/year)
AI-Powered Features
ScoreApp's Approach:
AI quiz builder
Can generate complete quiz funnels quickly
Can use AI to generate one-off "copy and paste" emails to send to new leads using their quiz data
RightMessage's Approach:
AI question, form, offer builder
Continuously analyzes data captured from quizzes, surveys, and on-site behavior to help develop blog/newsletter ideas, social media posts, audience insights, and more
Proactively recommends how to improve the questions you're asking based on the firehose of insights we're collecting for you
Analytics & Reporting
ScoreApp's Approach:
Track quiz responses, scores, time per question
Geolocation data and UTM parameters
Abandonment points and drop-off analysis
Audience segmentation analytics (Business tier+)
Split testing (Pro tier+)
Integration with Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Google Tag Manager
RightMessage's Approach:
Comprehensive dashboard with real-time visitor metrics
Flow performance analytics: impressions, engagement rates, conversion by outcome
Website personalization performance with control vs. personalized comparison
AI-powered analysis identifying demographic breakdowns and strategic gaps
Website analytics
Weekly automated email reports
Pricing Breakdown
On paper, RightMessage's entry level plan is more expensive than ScoreApp.
However, RightMessage is meant to combine quite a few tools into one platform:
Quiz funnels with split testing and data enrichment - replaces $149/mo ScoreApp
Personalized on-site popups, forms, and more - replaces $49+/mo form tool
Survey and segmentation forms - replaces tools like Typeform or Tally ($25+/mo)
On-site personalization - replaces Optimizely or VWO, which start at $1500+/mo
Customer data platform - replaces Segment, which start at $1000+/mo
If your goal is to go all-in on personalized marketing and you're looking for a platform built for the ground up to help you do that, then our pricing is actually very reasonable compared to the alternatives.
The Bottom Line
We love what the team at ScoreApp has built, and we love the work Daniel Priestly has done to teach business owners about the value of segmentation (through quiz funnels, or "scorecards").
Like we mentioned at the beginning of this comparison, many of RightMessage's customers also use ScoreApp.
However, as RightMessage continues to develop, the gap between us and ScoreApp is rapidly diminishing. Many of those customers who used ScoreApp are now finding that they can house their quizzes and their on-site lead magnets (non quizzes) and their website / email personalization all under one roof.
And because the segmentation profile we develop before someone even gets to your quiz can be used to tailor the content of your quizzes, well-constructed RightMessage quiz funnels can do considerably more than ScoreApp's funnels.
👉 All-in on personalized marketing? Then you'll want to go with RightMessage.
👉 Basic quiz funnel → results page requirements? Then ScoreApp is likely fine for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I migrate from ScoreApp to RightMessage without losing data?
A: Yes, but with caveats. Your contact data lives primarily in your ESP/CRM, so switching platforms doesn't lose that. However, you'll need to rebuild quiz structures, landing pages, and platform-specific configurations.
Q: Which platform is easier to learn?
A: ScoreApp is generally simpler for quiz-specific tasks. The AI builder can create complete funnels really quickly. RightMessage has a steeper learning curve due to broader capabilities (Flows, segmentation, website personalization), but once you "get" how our Flow system works for quiz funnels, on-site personalized product recommendations, and more... you'll never want to go back.
Q: Does RightMessage work with my platform (Webflow, Shopify, custom site)?
A: Yes. RightMessage works on any website via our JavaScript snippet, regardless of platform. ScoreApp creates standalone experiences, so platform compatibility isn't a factor.
Q: Can I white-label either platform for agency use?
A: Neither platform currently offers full white-labeling. Any paid RightMessage plan can have branding removed, and ScoreApp allows branding removal at Business tier. Both, however, can be set up in such a way that the end user (and possibly your clients) won't even realize that RightMessage/ScoreApp are in the picture.
Q: How do pricing models compare for high-volume use?
A: At high volumes (100K+ visitors, 5K+ quiz responses monthly), RightMessage's unlimited pageviews model becomes more cost-effective than ScoreApp's response-based pricing. ScoreApp Pro allows 3,000 responses/month at $149; exceeding that requires expensive add-ons. Assuming you're driving everyone to just your quiz, RightMessage's baseline $79/mo plan could technically handle up to 10,000 responses/month.
Q: Which platform has better email marketing integration?
A: RightMessage offers superior email integration with 2-way bidirectional sync by reading contact data to personalize experiences AND writing behavioral data back to enrich records. ScoreApp's integrations are solid but primarily 1-way (quiz data flows TO your email platform). If leveraging existing subscriber data is crucial, RightMessage wins clearly.
Q: Can I create quizzes with RightMessage?
A: Yes, RightMessage includes quiz functionality within its Flow builder. You can create multi-step question sequences with branching logic and segmentation along with scoring. However, it doesn't offer ScoreApp's specialized features PDF report generation. RightMessage quizzes integrate into broader personalization strategy rather than being standalone assessments.
Q: What about GDPR compliance and data privacy?
A: Both platforms support GDPR-compliant data collection. ScoreApp includes consent checkboxes and data retention policies (automatic deletion after 6+ months inactivity). RightMessage's data lives primarily in your ESP/CRM, inheriting those platforms' compliance measures. Both allow data exports and deletions per GDPR requirements. Always review specific compliance documentation for your use case.
