Rating question reference
You'll see how to choose a star-rating scale, save the number someone selects, and ask a follow-up based on their rating.
A Rating question lets visitors give you feedback by choosing a number of stars.
When to use it
Use it for a rating such as how useful a guide was. WorkForge (opens in a new tab) could ask visitors to rate its onboarding guide, then ask for an explanation when they choose 2 stars or fewer. A rating saves a number rather than adding points to a named flow score.
Settings
Number of stars defaults to 5. The choices are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. The smallest selectable rating is always 1. There is no zero-star choice or half-star setting.
Required defaults off. An optional question can be skipped. A standalone rating question advances as soon as the visitor selects a star value. It does not require a separate Next click.
How answers are stored and synced
RightMessage stores a whole number from 1 to your chosen maximum. If you change the maximum, older answers still describe the scale visitors saw at the time. Keep that difference in mind when comparing responses.
Rating doesn't create an answer segment or branch for each star. Add an input-answer condition to show a follow-up when the saved rating is less than or equal to 2, for example.
A linked Rating field is full width and waits for form submission. Selecting a star doesn't submit the form.
Save answers to shows your connected platform's name and offers compatible native or custom fields. An unmapped answer can still appear in Responses. A field mapping alone doesn't identify the visitor.
The question-editor preview doesn't record answers or send data to your email platform. Edits to an existing question save to your draft automatically and affect every use after you publish.
See shared question settings for wording and button labels, the Questions library reference for creation and reuse, and answer sync for identification and destination checks.
