Use this reference to choose what your form collects and how its fields fit together. The Fields tab includes built-in form controls and questions linked from your shared library. Every new form includes Email and Submit, and you can't delete either.

Fields you can add

Add field opens a searchable picker. Arrow keys move through choices, Enter selects, and Escape closes it. Search matches question names, wording, types, and keywords.

Name, Phone number, Address, Country, or WebsiteContact.
Short text, Long text, Number, Currency, or DateAnswers.
Rating, NPS, or SliderScales.
Multiple choiceChoices.
Checkbox, Hidden field, Spacer, Rich text, or HTMLLayout & advanced. These are built-in fields, not library questions.
A question you've already createdFrom your question library. It shows eligible questions that aren't already on this form. Email questions aren't included because the form has its own Email control.

Choosing a question type creates a library question and links it to the form. Choosing a question from your library reuses it. You can't add the same question twice to one form.

Linked question types

A linked field uses the validation, answer choices, and mappings in its shared question settings.

TypeCollected value or controlForm width
NameStructured name fields.Always Full.
Phone numberPhone input using the question's country and validation settings.Half or Full.
AddressStructured address fields.Always Full.
CountryCountry selection.Half or Full.
WebsiteURL input.Half or Full.
Short textSingle-line answer.Half or Full.
Long textMultiline answer.Half or Full.
NumberNumeric input.Half or Full.
CurrencyNumeric amount with the question's currency settings.Half or Full.
DateDate input.Half or Full.
RatingRating control.Always Full.
NPSNumeric recommendation scale.Always Full.
SliderValue selected along a configured range.Always Full.
Multiple choiceAnswer choices tied to the question's segments.Half or Full.

Linked fields start at full width, with the question wording as their label. They use the question's required setting when it has one. Otherwise, they start as optional.

Field inspector

Selecting a field opens its inspector.

  • Label changes the wording on this form.
  • Placeholder appears for supported text-like inputs. A question's placeholder supplies the fallback.
  • Question selects or edits the linked library question.
  • Required controls supported field validation. Native Email remains required regardless of this switch.
  • Width selects Half or Full where the field can resize.
  • Show answers as offers Dropdown or Radio for choice questions. Fields default to Dropdown, which accepts one answer. For a multiple-answer question, Radio displays checkboxes so the visitor can select several answers, despite the editor's label.
  • Delete field removes a deletable field from this form.

Changing the label on this form doesn't rename the shared question. Editing the question itself changes its settings everywhere you use it. Create and link question in the question drawer creates a new library question and adds it to the form. If you close an unsaved question draft, RightMessage asks whether to discard it.

This question isn't synced to a field means an input question has no sync mapping. Visitors can still select and submit it. Choose Edit question to set up syncing if you want the answer saved to your email platform.

Deleting a library question removes its linked controls. A field can't display fully if its question is missing.

Built-in fields

FieldInspector controls and limits
EmailLabel and placeholder. Always required. Cannot be deleted. Can use Half or Full width.
SubmitButton text edits the form's button wording. Always Full width and cannot be deleted.
CheckboxRich-text Label, Save answers to, and Value sent when checked. No Required control.
Hidden fieldSave answers to and a fixed value. No visible label or placeholder editor, and no width control.
Rich textContent and Text Size. Choose Extra Small, Small, Medium, or Large. Medium is the default. Does not collect a response.
HTMLHTML Code edits a content block. Configure response fields and their mappings separately.
SpacerA blank layout field with no extra content settings.

Checkbox, Rich text, HTML, and Spacer can use Half or Full width. New layout fields start Full. Hidden fields have no width control.

A hidden field in WorkForge (opens in a new tab) could send blog-newsletter to a campaign field. Hidden means visitors don't see it on the form, not that it's secret. Don't put credentials or sensitive internal data in it.

A built-in checkbox can't enforce required consent through this inspector. Asking visitors to agree in its wording doesn't make it required.

Older fields you can still edit

You can still edit saved native Text, Text Area, Phone, and Radio Buttons fields. They aren't in the current add menu. For new fields, use the matching linked question type.

Existing typeEditable settings
TextLabel, placeholder, required state, width, and email-platform field mapping.
Text AreaLabel, placeholder, required state, width, and mapping.
PhoneLabel, placeholder, fallback country, invalid-number message, required state, width, and mapping. Detected visitor location takes precedence over the fallback country.
Radio ButtonsRich-text label, available options, required state, width, and mapping. Options can be added, edited, or deleted.

The old native Number placeholder isn't a field you can add. The linked Number question in the current picker is a separate, available control.

Field order and layout

You can insert fields where you want them and reorder them by dragging the preview controls or inspector list. Half uses half the form's width, and Full uses all of it. Inserting or moving fields keeps Submit last. Opening the Fields tab alone doesn't reorder an older saved form.

The widget controls fonts, colors, spacing, and label placement. For Inside labels, the preview can show label text where a placeholder would normally appear. Changing the widget's label style is separate from changing field values or validation.

What happens when someone submits

Linked answers go with the form submission. They don't identify the visitor on their own. The form's email and selected action handle that. RightMessage saves validated answers in the browser before the destination finishes processing them, so a saved local answer doesn't mean your email platform received it.

The form follows its dedicated post-submit path. That editor doesn't let you insert offers, exit nodes, or questions that ask the visitor for an answer.

Fields and Actions are locked while the form has a draft or running A/B test. A completed test doesn't keep them locked. See the form actions reference for destination requirements.

Other ways to create a form

Alongside Blank, the creation screen offers Copy a form and Draft with Righty. For a copy, select the source form. For Righty, describe what you want the form to do.

A copy includes personalized content but starts with fresh reporting data. Cancel leaves the creation screen without adding a form.

Find and manage your forms

List and Grid change how you browse forms. All, In use, and Unused filter by whether a flow uses the form, not whether it's enabled.

You can filter by flow or submission action. Search forms matches form and flow names. Clear filters removes the selected filters.

Sort by most or fewest shown, most or fewest conversions, highest or lowest rate, or name. The date selector changes the reporting period. Widget and offer reporting explains those numbers.

The full editor has Results, Content, Fields, Actions, A/B test, and Uses. The flow drawer leaves out reporting and test tabs.

The header's Enabled toggle pauses the form. More actions has Duplicate and Delete, each with confirmation. Publish a pause or deletion to apply it to your website. Running tests lock content editing. Draft and running tests lock Fields and Actions, but completed tests don't.

For the setup steps, see create a form.
