Shuffle answer choices so the same option doesn't always appear first. Randomization fits questions where each option is equally valid and the list has no meaningful sequence.

For WorkForge (opens in a new tab), "What is your biggest project challenge?" could shuffle handoffs, client updates, and repetitive work. Keep an ordered list such as Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced in its natural order.

You'll need editing access and a choice question without a running question A/B test. Check Uses before changing it. The setting belongs to the shared question, so it affects every place that uses it.

Turn on randomization

  1. Open Questions, select the question, and open Setup.
  2. Turn on Randomize answer order.
  3. Keep the Other option in the position where you'd like it to appear.

The screenshot also has multiple answers and an Other write-in enabled. You don't need either setting to shuffle the choices.

Check the order on your site

Use Preview on your site to review the question in its intended widget. Eligible answers shuffle once for each flow instance on a pageview. They stay in that order while the instance updates. Open a new pageview to try another order rather than expecting a reshuffle after each interaction.

Other stays where you put it. Some ordinary answer labels stay in place too. The question settings reference lists the recognized wording and explains what happens with translated or custom labels.

Shuffling doesn't change the answer's segment, mapped value, or branch. It isn't an A/B test and doesn't guarantee a better response rate.

When the choices appear as you expect and ordered alternatives stay in place, publish your changes. Next, review answers and activity to see how people respond.
