Let visitors choose multiple answers
You'll let visitors select every answer that fits, then check their segments and the values sent to your email platform.
Let visitors choose everything that applies instead of making them pick just one answer. RightMessage can save several answer segments for the same person, then continue the flow on one shared path.
You'll need editing access and a Multiple choice or Yes / No question. Check Uses before changing it, because the setting affects every flow that shares the question. A running question A/B test locks its behavior.
If each answer needs its own follow-up, keep single-answer mode or add conditions after the question.
Allow more than one answer
- Open Questions, select your question, and open Setup.
- Turn on Allow multiple answers.
- Review the warning if existing flows use answer branches. Turning this on removes those branches.
- Check Show answers as. Dropdown switches to Buttons, and Radio uses checkboxes.
- Make the wording clear that visitors can select more than one answer.
WorkForge (opens in a new tab) could ask, "Which topics would help your team? Choose all that apply."
If you enable Add an "Other" write-in, visitors write their explanation inline. Selecting Other requires text, and they can select ordinary answers too. Question settings covers the display and behavior options.
Check the path and saved answers
Try selecting several answers in the question-editor preview, then click Next. The flow should continue on one path, not run every selected answer's branch. Visitors can belong to several answer segments, and configured score changes can apply to the selected answers.
Review all affected flows and the question's Sync settings. If you sync to a custom field, RightMessage sends multiple mapped values as comma-separated values. Check that your field and automation can read that format. Some platforms support tag mappings too. Answer sync explains the differences.
Try it on your site
The widget can look different from the question-editor preview, especially in a Bar. Check the intended widget with Preview on your site, then publish your changes when you're happy with it.
On the live site, try the question as an anonymous visitor. If you're syncing answers, try it with an identified test contact too. Check the selected segment memberships and the destination data separately. The question-editor preview doesn't update your email platform.
It's working when visitors can choose several answers, continue down the shared path, and have the expected answers saved. Next, review their answers and activity.
