Make your existing page more relevant to an audience without rebuilding it. You can rewrite a headline, swap an image, send a button to a different page, or show a different testimonial.

Start with a personalization campaign. Build any new sections in your website first. The campaign editor changes elements that are already there.

Choose an audience and element

  1. Open your campaign editor and choose Edit.
  2. Select an audience in the left panel.
  3. Click the element on the page. Check that its outline surrounds the content you mean to change.
  4. Use the floating element editor to make your change.

Original page is what visitors see when no audience matches. Its Control stays your unchanged website, so edit your website itself to change it. To try different content for those visitors, choose A/B test the original page from the Original page row's menu. You can then edit each variant like an audience. See run an A/B test on a page or an audience.

If clicking selects the wrong part of the page, see Select stable page elements for personalization.

Replace the content

On the Content tab, choose Replace all content from the content mode menu. Enter the replacement in Content. Use Show original to compare it with the wording on your website, and Hide original to tuck that comparison away.

To get help with the wording, choose Ask Righty for options. Write page copy with Righty explains how to review and use its suggestions.

Replace a headline or paragraph rather than a whole section containing a form. Replacing a container's content can also replace the elements inside it.

If the text starts with a styled part, such as a colored number in bold, it shows above the field and keeps its color and weight. Enter only the words that follow it.

Replace only certain words

Choose Find and replace from the content mode menu when you want to keep the surrounding text and formatting.

  1. In the paired card, enter the existing wording in Find.
  2. Enter its replacement in With.
  3. Check the match count beside Find. Pairs run from top to bottom, so a later pair checks the text left by earlier replacements. No matches means that pair won't change anything in the preview.
  4. Review Preview below the cards. It highlights the replacement text and shows the total number of replacements.
  5. Choose Add replacement for another pair. Use a card's trash button to remove that pair.

For example, replace "your team" with "your agency" without rewriting the rest of the paragraph. Regular expressions are also supported using the displayed /regex/gi format.

Switching between Replace all content and Find and replace clears the previous content-mode fields. Choose your mode before writing a long replacement.

Replace an image

Select an image, then use the Content tab. You have three ways to replace it:

  • Drop an image onto Browse or drop an image to upload it.
  • Choose Replace image or browse to open Media Gallery. Upload a file there or select one from your media library.
  • Under or paste an image URL, paste a full address in Image URL, then choose Use. The address must start with https:// or http://.

Uploads accept PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, and SVG files up to 2 MB. Current image shows your selection. Show original displays the original image for comparison.

Open Style to set meaningful Alt text. Check the image at mobile and desktop widths; your replacement may have different proportions from the original.

Upload an image, choose one from your library, or paste its URL.

Select the link, including a link styled as a button, and use the Content tab. If you selected text or an image inside a link, Content says This sits inside a link. Choose Edit where it links to select the link itself.

Enter the destination in Link URL. Under Link target, choose Same window or New window (_blank). Choose Same as original to keep the website's current behavior. Use original removes an override from a field.

Show, hide, or restyle an element

Open Style for these controls:

To show a different testimonial, build both sections on your website first. For the selected audience, hide the general testimonial and show the audience-specific one. Choose Original page to check your website's unchanged layout.

Compare audiences or remove a change

Use the audience picker in the element editor to edit this element for another audience. Previous audience and Next audience move between audiences that already change the selected element on this page. Use the picker to choose an audience that hasn't changed it yet.

To remove the selected audience's change, choose the trash button labeled Remove this change, then confirm Remove change. This removes the whole change for that audience and element, including its content and style overrides. It doesn't delete the element from your website or remove another audience's changes.

Choose Done to close the element editor. To compare copy across many audiences at once, edit copy in the Matrix.

Check your page before publishing

Review page targeting if the change should apply on more than the current page. Use Preview mode to check different audience combinations and any overlaps.

Then choose Preview on your site in the bottom bar. Check the links, images, and layout on your real page at mobile and desktop widths. Testing your changes covers the full check.

When you're happy with each audience's page, publish your changes.
