# Change copy, images, links, and page sections

You'll change your page's text, images, links, or visible sections for an audience, then check the original page still works for everyone else.

Available on the Scale and Pro plans.

Make your existing page more relevant to an audience without replacing your website builder or forms. You can change a headline, swap an image, or show a different testimonial.

You'll need project editing access, a [personalization campaign](https://rightmessage.com/help/create-a-personalization-campaign) with audience rules, and RightMessage installed on your site. Build any new sections in your website first. The visual editor changes elements that are already there.

## Open the page and audience

1. Open the campaign's **Experiences** tab.
2. Choose **Open in visual editor** beside the page.
3. Switch to **Personalize** if you're in **Browse** mode.
4. Select the audience you'd like to change the page for.
5. Click the element on the page. Check that the highlight surrounds the content you mean to change.

## Change text, images, or links

Open the element panel's **General** tab. For text, choose **Replace all** under **Content** and write your replacement. **Show original** lets you compare the wording, and **Copy original** gives you a starting point.

For an image, enter its **Image Source** URL and meaningful **Alt Text**. For a link, enter its **Link URL**. If you don't see link fields, select the enclosing link rather than the text inside it.

Wait for the saving indicator to finish before leaving. See the [visual editor reference](https://rightmessage.com/help/visual-editor-reference) for all the controls, including what blank values do.

> **Warning**
>
> Set where a link opens in your website editor. RightMessage's **Link Target** control currently doesn't change the browser's link target.

Replacing an image's source removes its responsive `srcset`, so check the replacement at mobile and desktop widths.

## Show a different section

For an agency testimonial like one [WorkForge](https://workforge.rightmessage.com) could show, create both the agency and general testimonial sections in your website. Give each a stable ID or class so you can select it reliably.

1. Select the section you want to hide from agencies.
2. Set **Element Visibility** to **Hide element**.
3. Select the agency section and set **Element Visibility** to **Make visible**.
4. Select **Default** to check that the original website still shows a useful testimonial.

Use **No change (keep current)** when you don't want RightMessage to override visibility.

## Preview it on your site

1. Return to the dashboard and choose **Preview on your site** in the bottom bar.
2. Use **Choose preview URL** to open the page you edited.
3. Use the debugger docked at the bottom to inspect the matched audience and its changes.
4. Check the original fallback and visitors who match overlapping audiences.
5. Check mobile and desktop layouts.

Avoid replacing a whole container that includes a working form. Change its heading or surrounding copy instead. If you do change form markup, test validation, consent, submission, and the destination in the system that owns the form.

[Testing your changes](https://rightmessage.com/help/best-practices-for-testing) covers how to try different visitors.

## Go live

When the right content appears for each audience and the original page still works, [publish your changes](https://rightmessage.com/help/publishing-your-changes). Until then, they stay in your project draft.

Visit the live page without forced debugger overrides to check what an ordinary visitor sees. Next, [review your campaign audiences](https://rightmessage.com/help/personalization-audiences) if you want to tailor the page to another group.
