Create a flow
You'll create a flow and a toaster widget, then add a question that helps visitors find what they need on your website.
Create a flow to ask visitors a question and guide them toward a page, offer, or signup that fits. You'll give it a toaster widget, which slides into the corner of your website without needing a new place in your page layout.
A flow decides what visitors see next. Its widget decides how and where it appears. You'll need permission to edit the project, and RightMessage installed on your website to test it there.
Create your flow and widget
Pick what you'd like visitors to do, such as read one of your guides or sign up for it. Use a real page or offer from your website.
- Open Flows, choose New flow, then Blank flow.
- If Where should this flow show? appears, select A new widget.
- Under What kind of widget?, keep Toaster.
- Enter a Flow name you'll recognize later, such as
Resource finder. - Choose Create flow.
Your flow and widget are saved as a draft. Nothing changes on your live website until you publish. New widgets are enabled, so if you need to publish other changes before this flow is ready, turn off its widget's Enabled switch first.
Add your first question
- On the canvas, choose Add the first step, then Question.
- Under Segment visitors, choose Multiple choice.
- Write the question and its answers. Ask something that will help you choose what to show next.
- Leave Allow multiple answers off so each answer can have its own path.
- Choose Add to flow.
You can create questions and forms while you build. Add an Offer to send people to a page, or a Form to collect a signup. Open each step to finish its settings, then check the widget's Display and Design settings.
For other creation options, library filters, shared content, or canvas controls, use the flow canvas reference. It also links to the duplication and deletion settings when you need them.
Check it on your website
Once your questions lead to the right offer or form, choose Preview on your site in the bottom publish bar. Try each answer and check what appears next. The debugger at the bottom shows what RightMessage knows about you and what it's showing.
If you disabled the widget while building, enable it when you're ready to test its normal display. Testing your changes explains how to try each path as a fresh visitor.
When you're happy with it, choose Publish, review the pending project changes, and publish. Visit your site normally to check the live flow.
It's working when a visitor can answer the question and reach the page or signup you intended. Next, plan your questions and branches if different visitors need different follow-ups.
