Flow settings and deletion reference

Check what you'll keep or remove when you duplicate or delete a flow, and find the settings for naming, background actions, exports, and analytics.

Available on the Grow, Scale, and Pro plans.

View as Markdown

Use a flow's Settings tab to rename it, copy it, export it, or choose what to delete. This reference explains what each action changes, especially when other flows use the same questions, forms, or offers.

Flow settings and actions

If you'd like to…Setting or actionWhat it changes
Rename a flowNameChanges its internal name, not its widget's targeting.
Run without a widgetSystem FlowRuns the flow without a widget. The switch is disabled while incompatible display nodes or attached widgets remain. Even disabled widgets must be detached. New ordinary flows aren't system flows.
Change the reporting windowMetrics Date RangeAppears here for projects without enhanced flow reporting. It changes the reporting period, not when the flow runs.
Copy the flow's structureDuplicateCreates a new flow that still refers to the same shared questions, forms, and offers.
Remove a flowDeleteOpens deletion choices when the flow refers to questions, forms, or offers.
Export a flowCopy LLM OutputOpens its YAML export in a new tab, despite the copy label. It doesn't copy to the clipboard, publish, or run the flow.
Clear a flow's reportsDelete Analytics DataAvailable with enhanced flow reporting. Deletes analytics after confirmation. It doesn't pause the flow.

The toolbar also has Copy flow, which needs your account's copy permission, and the administrator-only Copy flow JSON. The JSON action copies the flow definition, not all the resources needed to recreate it. These are separate from Duplicate.

What a duplicate shares

Duplicate opens Really Duplicate?. Choose Duplicate to continue or Cancel to leave the flow unchanged. The copy gets a new flow ID, fresh node IDs, and a name ending in (Copy).

The copy keeps references to the original questions, forms, and offers. Editing that shared content can change other flows that use it. A duplicate doesn't take over the original's attached widgets. Assign it a widget and check its shared content before using it for something different.

Flow deletion choices

Check the listed resources and where they're used before confirming a deletion.

If you'd like to…Confirmation buttonWhat's deletedWhat's kept
Remove only this flowDelete Flow OnlyThis flowAttached widgets remain but lose their flow assignment. Questions, offers, and forms remain.
Remove the flow and its widgetsDelete Flow + WidgetsThis flow and its attached widgetsReferenced questions, offers, and forms
Remove the flow, widgets, and shared contentDelete Widgets + ReferencedThis flow, attached widgets, and referenced questions, offers, and formsUnrelated resources

The broadest choice can affect campaigns built on the flow's questions and break other flows that still use the same resources. Shared question references can block deletion and open a dialog showing uses outside this flow. Removing those references is a separate editing decision. Don't assume a resource belongs only to the flow you're deleting.

Cancel leaves the flow in place.

If the flow has no referenced questions, forms, or offers, Delete opens a simpler confirmation instead of these three choices. Deleting a row from the Flows library also uses a simpler confirmation. It removes the flow and clears attached widgets' flow assignments, but keeps their shared content. Its warning explains that those widgets will stop showing content.

Analytics deletion is immediate

Delete Analytics Data opens Clear Flow Analytics Data?. Clear Data permanently deletes the flow's tracked runs and metrics. Cancel keeps them. Neither choice changes the flow's questions or branches.

Clearing analytics doesn't wait for Publish, and the flow can still collect new data afterward. To stop it, disable its widgets or system execution instead. Don't clear analytics to test whether a configuration change has been deleted.

Draft and live behavior

Flow configuration changes need publication to update your website. Review all pending project changes before publishing a deletion or a change to System Flow. Deleting analytics is different because it changes stored data immediately.

To stop a flow while keeping its structure, pause the flow or its widgets. Read about system flows before turning on background execution.
