Add RightMessage to your Carrd site so you can ask visitors questions and show offers that fit their answers. One hidden embed covers the whole site.

Add the snippet to your site

You'll need a RightMessage project, permission to edit and publish your site, and Carrd Pro Standard or higher. Free and Pro Lite plans don't include the custom-code embed used here.

  1. In RightMessage, select your project and open Settings > JavaScript Snippet under Project.
  2. Keep Live website selected and copy the full Snippet Code, including its script tags.

  1. Open your site in Carrd and choose Add Element > Embed.
  2. Set Type to Code and paste the snippet into Code. Give it a Label, such as RightMessage.
  3. Set Style to Hidden, then choose Head as its location.
  4. Publish your Carrd site.

The embed covers every section, wherever its marker appears in the builder. Install it only once. If you've already published questions, offers, or personalizations in RightMessage, they can appear as soon as the snippet runs.

Check that it's working

  1. Visit your published site in a normal browser tab. Carrd doesn't run the embed in the builder.
  2. Follow your site's consent prompt if it controls when the snippet runs.
  3. Back in RightMessage, open Settings > JavaScript Snippet and look for a recent timestamp in Snippet Health.

A recent timestamp means RightMessage is receiving data. Use the debugger to see what it knows about you and what it's showing on the page.

No activity? Check that you published the embed, chose Hidden > Head, and copied this project's snippet. Installation troubleshooting covers the other checks.

For Carrd's instructions, see embedding custom code (opens in a new tab).

Next, build a resource recommendation in the app.
