Righty conversations, approvals, receipts, and undo
Find the Righty controls you need to resume a conversation, approve a deletion, check what changed, or undo an eligible edit.
Updated
View as MarkdownUse this page to find your conversations, understand approval cards, and check whether you can undo a change. Righty works inside your RightMessage project. External assistants connected through MCP have a separate connection and conversation history.
Availability and opening controls
The dock has Righty and Help tabs. It isn't available during onboarding, in the public demo, or in the expired-trial blocking state. Resource permissions and plan access still apply to its actions.
| Control | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Control + / or Command + / | Toggles the dock. An open modal or command palette can block the shortcut. |
| Escape | Closes the dock when the shortcut is available. |
| Close Righty | Closes the dock without deleting the conversation. |
| Need help? | Opens Righty in a new conversation in the authenticated app, or closes it when it's already open. In demo mode, it links to the Help Center. |
| New conversation | Starts a separate conversation. It is disabled when there are no messages to leave. |
Dock width
On screens at least 768px wide, drag the dock's left edge to make it wider or narrower. A line appears on that edge when you point at it. Below 768px, Righty fills the screen and can't be resized.
From the keyboard, press Tab until the Resize Righty handle has focus, then:
| Key | Effect |
|---|---|
| Left arrow | Widens the dock a little. Hold Shift for bigger steps. |
| Right arrow | Narrows the dock a little. Hold Shift for bigger steps. |
| Home | Makes the dock as narrow as it goes. |
| End | Makes the dock as wide as it goes. |
The dock starts at 400px. It can be as narrow as 200px and as wide as 720px or half the window, whichever is smaller. Your browser remembers the width you choose, so it's the same in every project you open there.
When the dock is too narrow for its Righty and Help tabs, they hide and the tab you had open stays open. Widen the dock to switch tabs again.
Composer and running turns
Write a message in the composer and press Enter to send it. Blank messages aren't accepted unless they carry an attachment. Enter doesn't send while an input method is composing text. Shift + Enter adds a line break.
Attach files
Show Righty a screenshot, a brief, or a spreadsheet instead of describing it. Choose Attach files (the paperclip beside the composer), paste a file into the message, or drag files onto the composer until it says Drop files to attach.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| File types | PNG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF images; PDFs; plain text, Markdown, CSV, and JSON files |
| Files per message | Up to 10 |
| Size | 10 MB per file and 20 MB per message |
Each file shows above the composer while it uploads. Send waits until uploads finish, and you can send attachments without any text. Remove a file with its × before sending. RightMessage checks each file's contents: a file of another type is refused with "Righty can read PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF images, PDFs, and plain text, Markdown, CSV or JSON files.", and a renamed one with a message such as "This file's contents don't match its .pdf extension." Uploading many files quickly can show "Too many uploads. Wait a minute and try again."
In the conversation, select an image to open it larger with Download. Other files show as download links. Attachments belong to the project, and deleting the project deletes them.
Running turns
While Righty is working, Stop requests cancellation. The control changes to Stopping after this step…. Stopping doesn't undo changes Righty has already saved. Check the conversation's change cards and your current project to see what it completed.
When Righty builds something in stages, such as a quiz flow, the running stage lists what it's working out in plain words, such as the questions, answers, and results it's writing.
In a quiz or survey, Righty gives a question a branch for each answer only when most answers lead to their own follow-up. When just one or a few answers need something extra, such as "None" in a long list of email platforms, it asks the question without branching and adds a Condition on those answers after it. Visitors who match follow Yes to the extra step, and then everyone continues to the same next step.
Messages can include page-change markers, activity, clarifying questions, support case references, approvals, and change cards. A page marker shows which page Righty knew you were viewing at that point. It doesn't ask Righty to change that page.
Righty ideas, context, and supported actions
An empty conversation offers up to four Ideas drawn from the current page, selected resource, and general prompts. Defaults include What can Righty help with?, Give me a quick overview, What are the best practices here?, and Help me get started.
A suggestion starts a request with your current context. Righty can look beyond the visible page, and choosing a suggestion doesn't approve a deletion.
Righty can inspect your configuration, analytics, resource details, visitors, and provider context. It can list people the way the People page does, find known contacts who viewed particular pages, and break down your traffic by source, referrer, landing page, UTM values, location, device, and browser. Ask about "this month" or "last week" and it works from today's date. It can work with flows, questions, segments, forms, offers, widgets, campaigns, goals, phrases, personalized emails, version history, and split tests. It can also build and edit hosted landing pages. Righty gets tools relevant to the task and can discover more as needed. Its tools aren't identical to those available through external MCP connections.
For campaign A/B tests, Righty can set up a test on an audience or the original page, write challenger versions, and read verdicts from the Testing tab. It never starts, restarts, ends, or undeploys a test, and it never publishes. "Fill empty cells" skips tested audiences. You start and end tests yourself; see run an A/B test on a page or audience.
When Righty creates or changes a form, it uses only the delivery types your connected email platform supports in the form editor, and a chosen form, tag, list, event, or automation must have an ID. While it looks them up, the running step reads "Reading your email platform’s forms…" (or tags, lists, events, automations); these lookups only read your platform. A form without a chosen destination adds signups as contacts where the platform allows it. On Kit and Mailchimp, Righty asks which form or audience to use, or saves the form without one and names it in its closing summary so you can choose one before publishing.
Righty saves configuration changes as drafts. It can't publish them. You publish from the app after reviewing the changes.
Flow analytics from Righty
Ask Righty how a flow is doing and it reads the numbers the flow builder shows: the Metrics summary, Key Insights, Top Drop-off Points, and each step's counts on the canvas. It reads the date range selected in the dashboard's date picker, the same range the Metrics tab uses, unless you ask for a number of days, such as the last 30. It names the date range whenever it quotes a number, such as "Last 7 days, Oct 22 – Oct 28, 2026 (America/New_York)".
| Node | What Righty reports |
|---|---|
| Question | Asks, Completions, Answer Rate, and how many people gave each answer. |
| Offer or Form | How many people it was shown to and how many converted. |
| Condition, Router, or Random Split | How many people went down each branch. That's routing by design, so a small branch isn't a leak, and Righty doesn't call it drop-off. High Score shows no branch counts. |
| Other steps | How many people reached them. |
Views, Starts, and Submissions count runs, one for each time the flow was shown. Step, branch, and drop-off counts are people. Righty quotes drop-offs only from Key Insights and Top Drop-off Points, rather than subtracting one step's count from the next. Flow performance explains each number.
Righty's flow numbers can also list Pages where the published flow started, with unique visitors and runs for each page. A run starts before the flow's conditions do, so these pages include visitors whom a condition then sent to an exit and who saw nothing. They aren't the pages where your survey appears.
Where a flow or survey shows
Ask Righty which pages a flow, survey, or question appears on and it answers from your current draft, including edits you haven't published. It reads two things:
- Each widget that runs the flow: whether the widget is on, its trigger, and the pages its targeting allows. A widget with no page targeting runs on all pages.
- Each path through the flow: the conditions, router segments, random groups, or highest scores the path needs, in order, and the first thing it shows, such as a question, offer, or message.
A path that reaches an Exit, or runs out of steps, shows nothing, so the widget never appears for that visitor. A flow shows only on pages where a widget runs it and a path reaches something visible. If no widget runs the flow, Righty tells you it shows nowhere.
Righty describes page conditions in the canvas's wording, such as current page is "/pricing", previous page contains "/blog", landing page matches "/guides/*", or never visited a page that contains "/checkout". Because it reads the draft, publish before you expect visitors to see the same thing.
Campaign editor copy controls
Website personalization requires Scale or Pro. In the campaign editor:
| To work on | Control and behavior |
|---|---|
| One audience's copy for one element | Ask Righty for options returns four cards without saving a change. Use this applies a card to its own audience and element. |
| Gaps in the displayed Matrix | Fill empty cells writes copy while preserving existing changes, including non-text changes. |
| A selected set of Matrix cells | Rewrite with Righty starts a new conversation scoped to at least 2 selected cells. The first reply recaps the selection and asks what to change before writing. |
| Saved audience changes | Select the audience's row on the change card to open it in the editor. New changes highlight on the page or in the Matrix. |
The editor's Ideas are Personalize the headline and subheadline based on the business type, Rewrite the main button for each lifecycle stage, and Fill every empty cell in the matrix.
See write page copy with Righty for the full procedure.
Recent and previous conversations
An empty conversation shows up to three recent conversations. If more are available, See all opens the conversation browser. Search checks titles and summaries. Select a conversation to resume it.
The list holds at most 50 eligible conversations, with the most recently active first. It includes your conversations and eligible recommendation conversations, rather than an unlimited archive. Deleting a conversation requires confirmation, and active work can prevent deletion. Deleting the conversation doesn't undo its saved project changes.
Recommendation builds keep their linked conversation. Continue draft on the dashboard and Build with Righty on an In draft optimization both return you to that work.
Clarifying questions and approvals
When Righty needs more information, it asks a clarifying question. You can select a proposed answer or write your own, depending on the question. Answering doesn't approve a destructive action.
For recommendation builds, Righty outlines a plan and waits for your explicit approval in that conversation before it can change resources.
Deletions need separate consent through a Needs your OK card, even if you've approved the plan. The card names the action and has an action-specific confirmation button plus Cancel. The controls are disabled while confirmation is processing. Each card applies to that deletion, not future deletions.
Righty change receipts and test review
A completed change card summarizes what Righty added, updated, or removed. Show expands the individual changes, grouped by kind, such as Audiences, Flows, or Form fields, with a count when a group has more than one. Each row shows its name with an Updated or Removed label; added items have a plus icon. A row with an arrow opens what changed. Removed items and undone cards don't link. Hide changes collapses the list.
Something Righty created and then edited in the same turn counts once, as added. Audience changes count once per audience.
A newly created draft split test can have a Review and start link. It opens the test review without starting the test or publishing project changes. A campaign A/B test Righty set up has no such link: start it from the campaign's Testing tab.
Change cards record work Righty applied. Open the affected editors and the publication review to check the saved configuration and anything else that uses it.
Undo eligibility
Undo appears only on the latest eligible change card. The server checks eligibility again when you select it. Undone confirms that the undo succeeded.
After a build that stopped partway, Undo removes everything that build added to your draft, so you can Retry from a clean draft. A build that deleted something offers only Retry.
For campaign audience changes, Undo reverses the whole turn, not one cell or audience. Applying an option with Use this is a separate editor edit; the suggestion turn itself doesn't save copy.
Righty needs a saved record of the original state and a current state it can safely reverse. Undo isn't available when:
- The draft changed after Righty's edit.
- A required snapshot is missing.
- Incompatible work is still running.
- The saved changes can't be safely reversed together.
- You've published or discarded the draft.
You can't undo deletions from chat. Undo also isn't a general rollback for email-platform effects, exports, or support actions.
You can undo verified, unchanged draft split-test creations. The tests must never have started or completed, and they must still match their saved creation records. If you've edited or started a test, use its test controls instead. Righty can't start, restart, end, or undeploy a campaign A/B test, so it has nothing to undo there; use the Testing tab.
If Righty refuses an undo, that request doesn't undo anything. Review the current draft and affected resources before choosing how to recover. Version history can restore a saved configuration to a draft, but it doesn't reverse every external action.
Errors and support
If a lasting error appears, Righty keeps it visible with a recovery action. Note the message, read any existing change cards, and check the draft before asking Righty to repeat a change. Troubleshoot Righty covers interrupted builds and what to send support.
