Connect your Meta ad account and RightMessage reads your Facebook and Instagram ads, works out who each one speaks to, and gives the people each ad sends their own version of your landing page. Then the Ads page shows what those visitors did, and what personalization changed for your ad spend.

RightMessage only reads your ad account. It can't create, change, or pause your ads, and it never spends money in Meta.

Connect your ad account

  1. Open Project settings (the gear at the bottom of the sidebar), then Integrations.
  2. Select the Connected apps tab.
  3. Beside Meta Ads, choose Connect. The dialog explains what RightMessage reads and imports.
  4. Choose Connect with Facebook and sign in to Meta. Approve the access it asks for.
  5. Back in RightMessage, choose the ad account whose ads send people to your site, then Use this account. If your Meta login sees only one ad account, RightMessage picks it for you. If you close the dialog first, Meta Ads shows Choose which account to use. Nothing syncs until you do. with a Choose account button, and the Ads page asks you to Choose an ad account.

The import starts as soon as you've chosen the account. Choose Go to Ads in the dialog to watch it, or find Ads in the sidebar under Personalize. It appears once Meta Ads is connected.

What RightMessage imports

RightMessage imports the ads running now plus every ad that ran in the last 30 days in the account you chose. For each one, it reads the ad's copy, call to action, link and URL parameters, and its last 30 days of spend, impressions, and link clicks. Paused and archived ads that haven't run in 30 days are left out.

The first import usually takes a few minutes. The Ads page walks through its steps while you wait: connecting to your account, reading ads, copy and spend, working out each ad's audience, and matching landing pages. You can leave the page; the import keeps going.

Meta limits how fast large ad accounts can be read. When it does, the page says Meta is pacing this import and shows when the next batch runs. It can take up to an hour, and nothing is lost: each batch picks up where the last one stopped.

Your new connection starts in Review first, so the audiences RightMessage picks for your first import wait for you to accept them before anything changes on your site. Turn your Meta ads into audiences explains what to do next.

Keep your ads in sync

RightMessage syncs your ads from Meta every hour. The line under the Ads title shows your ad account and when it last synced, such as Synced 12m ago. Hover over it, or tap it, to see when the next sync runs.

To pick up a change in Meta sooner, choose Sync now in that popover. You can sync up to three times in ten minutes.

If a sync fails, the line reads Synced 3h ago, retrying automatically, and RightMessage retries on its own before going back to hourly syncs.

Reconnect when Meta stops giving access

If Meta stops accepting RightMessage's access, for example because someone removed it in Meta's business settings, the Ads page says Meta stopped giving RightMessage access. Your imported ads stay, but they stop updating.

  1. Choose Reconnect on the Ads page, or Reconnect beside Meta Ads on the Connected apps tab.
  2. Sign in to Meta again and approve access.

Reconnecting keeps how you handle new ads, Review first or Apply automatically.

Change the ad account or disconnect

Choose Manage connection beside Meta Ads on the Connected apps tab. The dialog shows the Account, Last sync, and what it Imports.

  • To switch to another ad account, choose Change account, pick one, and choose Use this account. RightMessage imports that account's ads.
  • To stop using Meta Ads, choose Disconnect. RightMessage removes the imported ads and their audiences, and takes those ad audiences off your live site straight away. Your segments, campaigns, and pages stay as they are.
