Map several questions to provider fields
You'll map a flow's questions to contact fields in one go, so you can use visitors' answers in your email follow-up.
Save answers from several flow questions to your email platform without opening each question to choose a field. RightMessage can create new fields or reuse existing ones, then let you review the saved values before publishing.
You'll need an editable flow with unsynced questions and a connected email platform or CRM. The bulk action is available when your provider supports creating fields or lets you enter field names directly. That requirement applies even if you plan to reuse existing fields.
This sets up where future answers go. It doesn't import contacts or resend every historical response.
Choose the fields for your questions
- Open Flows and select the flow.
- Find the warning about questions that don't sync and choose Fix this.
- In Sync Questions to Custom Fields, review the listed questions.
- Adjust Field Name Prefix if needed. The default is
q_. - Edit each field name. Use letters, numbers, and underscores, with a different name for each row.
- Check the existing-field indicators. RightMessage reuses matching fields instead of creating duplicates.
- Choose Create & Map, followed by the field count. If all the fields already exist, choose Map, followed by the count.
- Wait for the completion notification before leaving the dialog.
The button uses your platform's name for fields. While it runs, you'll see Working... and a completed count. RightMessage processes one question at a time. If one fails, the successful ones stay mapped.
Changing Field Name Prefix updates rows that still start with the previous prefix. Field names must be filled in and use allowed characters. Duplicate checks ignore capitalization.
For providers with a field list, RightMessage looks for matching keys, names, or labels. If your provider accepts field names directly, it saves the name as the destination without making a separate field-creation request.
Check the values you'll save
- Open each question's sync tab, labeled with your provider, such as Sync with Kit.
- Check the destination field.
- For choice questions, review every answer's saved value. Fill in missing values and change any suggestions you don't want.
- For typed questions, check that the field accepts that type of answer.
- Publish your changes once the mappings are ready.
If AI value generation fails, the field can still be created and mapped. Check the question's sync tab and fill in missing values there. Don't create another field just because the suggestions didn't load.
Check a contact in your email platform
- Identify a test contact you control on your website.
- Answer one of the mapped questions.
- Check the corresponding field in your email platform or CRM.
- If the flow includes both choice and typed questions, test each type.
When the contact record holds the answer you submitted, that mapping is working. Verify a new connection or replacement API key walks through the full signup and returning-contact check. For mapping one question at a time, see Map answers to contact fields and tags.
