What is audience segmentation software?+
Audience segmentation software—sometimes called customer segmentation software—groups visitors and contacts using shared characteristics or behavior, then makes those groups available for targeting, analysis, or automation. RightMessage focuses on website audiences: it combines on-site activity, campaign context, quiz/survey answers, and supported ESP/CRM data so you can change what happens next.
How is a RightMessage audience different from a CRM list?+
A CRM list usually contains known contacts based on data already stored in the CRM. A RightMessage audience can also evaluate anonymous website visitors and use live on-site context such as pages viewed, referral source, UTM parameters, visit history, and RightMessage activity. When a visitor is identified, supported ESP or CRM data can become part of the same rule.
Can I combine website behavior with CRM data?+
Yes. For example, define “high-intent prospect” as someone who visited pricing more than once, has not reached the trial confirmation page, and is not marked as a customer in your connected ESP or CRM. Available CRM conditions depend on what the connected platform exposes.
Do I have to rebuild targeting rules for each popup or campaign?+
No. Define the audience as a reusable segment in RightMessage, then reference that same segment in personalization and flows. If the definition changes, update the audience rather than recreating the logic everywhere it is used.
Can audience segments sync back to my ESP or CRM?+
Yes, when supported by the connected platform. RightMessage can map a segment to a custom field or to tags/lists, so a matched or self-segmented visitor carries the same context into your email automation. Your ESP or CRM remains the system that stores the contact and sends the email.
Can a segment trigger a webhook or send a lead to sales?+
Yes, through a RightMessage flow. Route the matching audience into the appropriate branch, then fire a webhook when the visitor reaches the handoff step. That request can send context to an external URL; what happens next depends on the receiving system and the payload you configure. Webhooks are available on the Pro plan.
Can I segment anonymous visitors?+
Yes. RightMessage supports website visitor segmentation for anonymous traffic. It can use behavioral segmentation signals such as page history and visit frequency alongside referral source, UTM and query parameters, location, device, and browser data. When a known subscriber returns, connected ESP/CRM attributes can be evaluated too.
What can I do with an audience after I create it?+
Use it to personalize website content, choose which popup or form appears, branch a flow, change or skip questions, update supported ESP/CRM data, redirect the visitor, or fire a webhook from the flow. The point is to define who the visitor is once, then reuse that answer wherever the next decision happens.
