Overview
RightMessage doesn't have a native "unpublish" or "draft" toggle for individual flows. Instead, you control whether a flow appears to visitors by managing how it's connected to widgets and your website. This guide shows you three ways to stop a flow from displaying and how to verify it's no longer active.
Method 1: Add an Exit node at the top of your flow
Adding an Exit node as the first step immediately terminates the flow before any content displays to visitors.
Navigate to Flows in your dashboard and open the flow you want to unpublish.
In the flow builder, locate the Exit node in the left sidebar.
Drag the Exit node to the very top of your flow, making it the first step after the start.
Publish your changes
The Exit node ends the flow execution immediately and makes it so any widgets using this flow won't render. No content will display to visitors when the Exit node is the first step.
This method is useful when you want to quickly pause a flow without changing widget assignments or settings. You can remove the Exit node later to reactivate the flow.
Method 2: Disable the widget displaying the flow
Disabling a widget stops all flows assigned to it from appearing on your website.
Go to Widgets in your dashboard.
Find the widget connected to your flow and click to edit it.
In the Overview tab, locate the Enabled? toggle switch.
Switch the toggle to OFF. You'll see a gray dot appear next to the widget name.
Publish your changes
To find which widgets are connected to a flow, open the flow in your Flows list and check the widgets listed on the flow card. For detailed instructions on managing widgets, see Creating and designing widgets.
Method 3: Unassign the flow from all widgets
If a flow isn't assigned to any enabled widget, it won't display to visitors, even if the flow itself exists in your account.
Go to Widgets and open the widget connected to your flow.
Click the Content tab.
In the flow dropdown, select None or choose a different flow to replace it.
Save your changes.
Publish.
