Segments 101 - Adding Conditions To Segments
Conditions are the components added to segments in RightMessage to help qualify the type of visitor viewing the website being personalized.
Segments and conditions allow you personalize the experience your visitor, subscriber, member or customer has with your website.
You can set up as many conditions within your segment as you like. Use conditions to personalize the experience your visitor, subscriber, member or customer has with your website.
In this article, we will take a look at how to add and delete conditions in a segment.
Add A Condition To A Segment.
Go to Segments in your RightMessage Admin bar.
Click on a segment group name in the left sidebar, or create a new segment group.
In the segment group editing area, click on a segment tab to reveal the current conditions, or create a new segment.
Add a new condition by either clicking the ‘+and’ or ‘+or (another set of conditions)’ buttons.
Using the ‘+ and’ button to add a new condition will require the visitor, subscriber, member or customer to meet ALL conditions in order for personalizations to be shown. If you want your visitor, subscriber, member or customer to meet just one of the conditions, use the ‘+ or (another set of conditions)’ button.
Select a condition type in the drop down provided. Depending on the condition type, different fields will automatically display for you to define the values of the condition.
To make sure your new condition(s) is saved, click the ‘Publish’ button in the top right corner of the screen.
The Different Segment Conditions
There are 5 types of conditions that can be added to a segment in order for a personalization to display:
Delete A Condition From A Segment
If you no longer need a condition(s) in a segment, you can delete the condition from the segment.
To delete a condition, open the segment box and click the trash can icon to the right of the condition.
RightMessage will automatically remove the condition.
Click the ‘Publish’ button to save the changes.
