How to replace a background or content image

The personalization area in RightMessage can be used to make adjustments to image elements on your website to replace an image.

1. Changing content images

Locating an image element to personalize

To start personalizing an image element for your campaign, hover over the website and use the pink outline feature to locate the image element you want to personalize.

The outline feature will specify if the element you are hovering over is an ‘image’.


Click on the highlighted image you want to personalize. A box will show under the element with an option to personalize the element or cancel the selection.

Click the option to ‘Start Personalizing This Image’.

The personalization editing tool will display on the screen containing the options available for personalizing the element.

Modify settings

The ‘Modify’ settings tab in the personalization editing area will provide options to make changes to the image URL and the visibility of the element.


Enter a URL to change the image of an image element.

Note: you can add relative image URL’s where it is assumed the URL is located on the same URL of the website being personalized.

To start personalizing a background image element for your campaign, hover over the website and use the pink outline feature to locate the element you want to personalize.

Click on the highlighted element you want to personalize. A box will show under the element with an option to personalize the element or cancel the selection.

Click the option to ‘Start Personalizing This Element.


The personalization editing tool will display on the screen containing the options available for personalizing the element.

Modify settings

The ‘Modify’ settings in the personalization editing tool will provide options to make changes to the content, visibility and look of the element.

To change the background image, click the toggle arrow beside the ‘Additional Styles’.

Enter the ‘background-image’ CSS property and add the ‘url()’ value to the fields provided, to adjust the image being displayed for the background.

Note: you can add relative image URL’s if the URL is an image located on the same URL of the website being personalized.
