Adding goals to campaigns

Adding goals to an existing campaign in the dashboard

In your RightMessage main dashboard area, click the ‘Set up goal tracking’ button to add the goal to the campaign.


If you have not created a goal before, click the pink ‘Define A New Goal’ button.


In the form provided, add a name for the goal into the field provided.

Click the yellow ’Save’ button once you are done. RightMessage will save the new goal and redirect you to the ‘Goal’ editing screen to add conversion event(s) for the new goal.


To add a new conversion event to track, click the toggle arrow icon beside ‘Set Up Conversion Events’.

Select from one of conversions events displayed in the drop down.


Locate and select the area that matches the event you are tracking.


To make sure your new goal is saved, click the colored ‘Publish’ button in the top right corner of the screen.


Click on the ‘RightMessage’ icon to navigate back to the main dashboard area. RightMessage is now tracking the conversions for the campaign.


Adding goals to an existing campaign in the campaign editor

Click the ‘Edit this campaign’ button to edit.


Edit the campaign by clicking the cog or gear icon beside the campaign name in the blue editing bar.


Click inside the ‘What’s the goal of this campaign’ field. A list of the current goals will display underneath or start typing the name of the goal for the correct one to appear.

Click on the name of the goal to add it to the goal list. You can repeat this step to add multiple goals.


To delete a goal, click on the goal to highlight it and press the delete button on your keyboard.


Click the yellow ‘Save’ button once you are done.

Adding goals to a new campaign

You can also assign goals to new campaigns your create.

After creating a new campaign, you will be automatically redirected to the campaign editing area to personalize your site for a specific segment group.

When you ‘Publish’ the campaign, you will see a success pop up. Click ‘Yes, track this campaign’.


In the next screen, select from an already existing goal, or click ‘Define A New Goal’.


When selecting an existing goal, RightMessage will save the changes automatically. You can close the box by clicking the white ‘x’ icon.


When opting to create a new goal, you will be taken to a screen to fill out the new goal details.

Click the yellow ’Save’ button once you are done. RightMessage will save the new goal and redirect you to the ‘Goal’ editing screen to add conversion event(s) for the new goal.


Viewing the progress of your goal

Once a goal(s) has been added to a campaign, you will be able to monitor the progress of the goal from your main dashboard.


If you have assigned multiple goals to a campaign, use the drop down to select the goal you want to view.
