# Write page copy with Righty

You'll ask Righty for audience-specific copy, fill gaps in your Matrix, and review or undo its draft changes before publishing.

Available on the Scale and Pro plans.

Righty can suggest a few ways to word one headline or help write copy across several audiences. Work in the campaign editor so it can use the page you're viewing, your audience rules, and the elements you choose. All saved changes stay in the draft. Righty never publishes.

## Get four options for one element

1. Open your campaign editor in **Edit** and choose the audience you want to write for.
2. Select a text element on the page to open the element editor.
3. Choose **Ask Righty for options**.
4. Read the four option cards in the Righty conversation.
5. Choose **Use this** on the copy you want.

Generating options doesn't change the page. **Use this** saves that option for the audience and element the options were generated for, even if you've since selected another audience. The editor switches to that audience and highlights the element. The chosen card shows **Applied** while its copy matches the saved draft.

If Righty can't locate that element uniquely on the current page, it doesn't apply the option. Use **Select element** to find it before trying again.

Choose a targeted audience, not **Original page**. Every audience needs at least one segment. See [personalization audiences](https://rightmessage.com/help/personalization-audiences) for the setup and [personalize page content](https://rightmessage.com/help/personalize-page-content) for selecting and editing elements.

*Choose an audience and element, then ask Righty for copy options.*

## Fill the gaps without replacing your work

Open **Matrix** and choose the rows and audience columns you want to work on. **Changed only** starts with elements that already have changes. Use **All elements** to include available elements that haven't been personalized yet.

Choose **Fill empty cells**. This asks Righty to write and save audience-specific copy for the empty cells in that displayed grid. You don't need to repeat the request in chat.

Existing changes stay intact. A cell with any saved change counts as occupied, even when that change is a style, link, or visibility setting rather than copy. Righty skips it instead of overwriting it.

For a large grid, Righty may work on a subset and report that limit. Read its reply and check which cells were filled. [Edit copy in the Matrix](https://rightmessage.com/help/edit-copy-in-the-matrix) explains the filters and cell controls.

## Rewrite a selection together

Use **Rewrite with Righty** when you want to replace existing copy, rather than fill gaps.

1. In **Matrix**, select at least 2 editable cells. Drag or **Shift-click** for a rectangle. Use **Command-click** on macOS or **Ctrl-click** on Windows or Linux for separate cells.
2. Choose **Rewrite with Righty** in the selection bar.
3. Read the first reply. It recaps the selected cells and asks what you want to change. It doesn't write yet.
4. Describe the rewrite you want.

For example:

```prompt
Make these headlines shorter and more specific to each audience. Keep the same offer and don't change the button text.
```

The conversation stays scoped to those audience-and-element pairs on that page. Changing your current selection doesn't give that conversation permission to rewrite other cells. Start a new selection conversation for a different set.

If an existing change also covers other pages, Righty can ask you to narrow its page rules in the editor before rewriting the selected cell. This keeps a page-specific rewrite from unexpectedly changing other pages.

## Check the changes and undo a turn

Righty's change card groups its edits by audience. Choose **View** to open the relevant audience in the editor. Newly changed elements or Matrix cells highlight so you can find them.

When available, **Undo** in the change card's header reverses the whole Righty turn, not just one cell or audience. It is only offered when the draft is still safe to reverse. Later edits, publishing, or discarding the draft can make it unavailable. See [Righty's undo rules](https://rightmessage.com/help/righty-reference#undo-eligibility).

Choosing **Use this** on an option card is a separate editor edit, not part of the turn that generated the options. To revise applied copy, edit the cell or element directly.

## Start from an editor idea

An empty Righty conversation on the campaign editor page offers these **Ideas**:

- **Personalize the headline and subheadline based on the business type**
- **Rewrite the main button for each lifecycle stage**
- **Fill every empty cell in the matrix**

Choose an idea to start a conversation with the editor's current context. Use the dedicated **Fill empty cells** button when you want to fill the displayed Matrix directly, or **Rewrite with Righty** when you want to limit a rewrite to a specific selection.

## Review before going live

Check the wording and the audience it belongs to. Choose **Preview** to compare audiences, then **Preview on your site** to test the unpublished draft on your real website.

Righty leaves publishing to you. When the copy and targeting are right, [review the project's changes and publish](https://rightmessage.com/help/publishing-your-changes).
