# Read the Ads page

You'll see what visitors from each Meta ad did on your site, which landing pages give each ad audience its own version, and where an ad or a page is still missing.

Available on the Scale and Pro plans.

The **Ads** page puts your Meta ad spend next to what happened on your site: who each ad brought, whether they converted, and whether the landing page spoke to them. Use it to find the pages worth personalizing, the ads that need a fix, and the audiences you're not running ads for yet.

> **Ads is in early access**
>
> Projects in the early access program see **Ads** in the sidebar, under **Personalize**, once [Meta Ads is connected](https://rightmessage.com/help/connect-meta-ads). If you don't see it and you'd like to try it, email <support@rightmessage.com> and ask for access.

## Pick the period and the goal

At the top right, choose **7 days**, **14 days**, or **30 days**. Each period covers complete days up to yesterday, in your ad account's time zone. The line under the title shows your ad account, its last sync, and the dates covered.

The menu under it reads **Counting** and the goal that means an ad worked, such as a booking or a signup. A visitor counts as a conversion when they reach that goal after their ad visit. The goals your landing page campaigns record come first, under **On your landing page campaigns**. **Other goals (no holdback comparison)** still count conversions, but can't show [personalization lift](https://rightmessage.com/help/meta-ads-lift), because no campaign on your landing pages measures them. **Create a new goal** opens the goal editor and brings you back with the new goal selected.

The first time, RightMessage picks the goal of the campaign on your busiest landing page. If it can't, the page asks **Which goal counts as a conversion?** and lists your goals with how often each was recorded. The page remembers your choice the next time you open it.

## The top of the page

**Personalization impact** compares ad visitors who saw your personalized page with the holdback who saw the original. [How lift is measured on the Ads page](https://rightmessage.com/help/meta-ads-lift) explains its numbers, its range bar, and why it can differ from the **Campaigns** page. When there's nothing to compare yet, it says why, with a button to fix it, such as **Turn on A/B testing** or **Personalize with Righty**.

**Needs attention** lists what's stopping ads or pages from being measured: ads without a working tracking link, ads without an audience, a goal that isn't recorded, or landing pages without a live campaign, goal, or holdback. Choose a row to see the ads or pages it means.

Under it, **New ads to review** and **Suggested segments** appear when Righty has picks or new segments waiting. See [Turn your Meta ads into audiences](https://rightmessage.com/help/meta-ad-audiences).

The numbers count ads that send people to your site:

| Number | What it counts |
| ----------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Spend** | What Meta charged in the period, per currency. Spend on ads that send people elsewhere is noted underneath and left out. |
| **Clicks** | Link clicks Meta counted, with the click-through rate (CTR). |
| **Visitors** | People who reached your site from an ad. Each person counts once, even after clicking several ads, so it's usually lower than clicks. When no visits are recorded at all, it links to the snippet install page. |
| **Conversions** | Ad visitors who reached the goal after their ad visit, with the conversion rate. |
| **Cost per conversion** | Spend divided by conversions, when all your spend is in one currency. |

## By ad

Each row is one ad, with copies of it in other ad sets counted together. It shows the ad's audience, spend, CTR, visitors, conversions, cost per conversion, and lift. Filter by **All**, **Active**, or **Paused**, or by lift status with the chips beside it.

Choose a row to open the ad's details: its numbers, personalization impact, copy, where it sends people, its tracking link, where it runs in Meta, and its **Audience**, which you can change. **Preview** opens the campaign covering the ad's landing page as that ad's visitors see it. On a RightMessage page, it opens the page editor on that audience's layer.

When every ad shares one lift status, such as A/B testing being off, one note replaces the **Lift** column.

## By audience

**By group** totals your ads per segment, one table per segment group, with the number of ads, spend, visitors, conversions, cost per conversion, lift, and **Landing page**: whether that audience gets its **Own version**, the **Default page**, is **Partly personalized** across pages, or **Not known**. An ad counts under every segment it's in, including segments it gets [from your rules](https://rightmessage.com/help/meta-ad-audiences#ads-your-own-rules-already-place-from-your-rules), so the rows don't add up to a total.

**Combinations** crosses two segment groups, such as *Business type* × *Email platform*, and shows one row for each pairing that has ads, with **Preview** for each. Pick the two groups with the menus above the table; it needs ads mapped in at least two groups. Rates and costs from fewer than 10 conversions are faded, because they move a lot.

## Landing pages

Every page your ads send people to, with its ads, visitors, and spend.

Each page with a live campaign gets a card. **Ready to measure** checks five things: a live campaign runs on the page, it has a conversion goal, the goal is being recorded, A/B testing is on so a holdback sees the original page, and every ad audience sees its own version. Each failed check links to the fix. **What each ad audience sees here** lists every audience landing there with **Own version**, **Default page**, or **Not known**. An own version that also depends on another segment, such as a booking status, says **For visitors also in** that segment.

When an audience's version converts often enough to test, it shows a suggestion such as "42 conversions in the last 30 days, enough to compare two versions in about 3 weeks", with **Test another version**, which opens the campaign's **Testing** tab. It appears only when that version isn't being tested yet and two versions would each reach about 10 conversions within four weeks. If your plan doesn't include A/B tests, it offers an upgrade instead.

Pages without a live campaign are listed together, busiest first. Their visitors see each page as it is, so nothing there is personalized or measured.

### Personalize a landing page with Righty

Choose **Personalize with Righty** on a page. Righty builds one draft campaign for it with an audience for each segment its ads use, and writes each audience's copy for what its ads promise. Each segment group gets its own part of the page, such as the headline, the line under it, and the call to action, so every combination of ads reads naturally. It attaches the goal you're counting so the campaign measures it.

Righty only drafts. It doesn't publish or start A/B tests. Preview the campaign, then publish when you're happy with it. The button is unavailable, with the reason, when the page isn't on one of your project's websites or when none of its ads has a tracking link or an audience yet.

**Personalize with Righty** in **Personalization impact** starts on the busiest page without a live campaign.

## Gaps

**Gaps** shows the same two segment groups as **Combinations** as a grid, with your ads in each pairing. Switch the filled cells between **Spend**, **Conversions**, and **Cost per conversion**, or choose **Gaps only**.

A gap is a pairing that had at least 50 visitors on your site in the period but no ad speaking to it. Up to three appear under **Suggested ads to create**, each with how many visitors fit, the **Tracking value** to give the new ad (unless your account already tags ads with their own ID), an **Ad link** to copy into Meta, and a warning when your landing page has no version for that audience yet. **Draft an ad with Righty** opens Righty with a brief for that audience.
