# Recommend a page or product on your website

In this guide, you'll pick the pages you'd most like visitors to find, then ask a question or two that sends each person to the one that fits them. No email list needed.

Available on the Grow, Scale, and Pro plans.

This guide helps you get more visitors to the pages that matter most, like the product, service, or plan that fits them best. You'll start with the pages you'd like people to land on, then work backward to a quick conversation that figures out which one each visitor needs.

You don't need an email list for any of this, and every answer becomes a segment you can use to personalize the rest of your site later.

## 1. Pick the pages you'd like people to find

Go through your website and list the key pages you'd love to send people to: your products, services, plans, or the guides that do the most selling for you. Three to six is plenty. For each one, jot down who it's really for.

Our example business, [WorkForge](https://workforge.rightmessage.com), has a page for each kind of team it serves:

| Page | Who it's for |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| [Agencies](https://workforge.rightmessage.com/solutions/agencies.html) | Agency teams running client projects |
| [Consultants](https://workforge.rightmessage.com/solutions.html) | People handling client work on their own |
| [Software teams](https://workforge.rightmessage.com/solutions/software-teams.html) | Teams building software |
| [Coaches](https://workforge.rightmessage.com/solutions/coaches.html) | People running coaching programs |
| [Ecommerce](https://workforge.rightmessage.com/solutions/ecommerce.html) | Teams launching products |

## 2. Work backward to your questions

Now figure out what you'd need to know about someone to send them to the right page. That's what you'll ask.

- Start with the question that splits your pages into the biggest groups. WorkForge asks "What kind of work are you managing?"
- Ask a follow-up only when an answer still leaves more than one page. "Client projects" could mean an agency or a solo consultant, so only those people get asked "Who's doing the client work?"
- Use your visitors' words, not your internal labels.

That way it feels like a quick conversation instead of a form. Most people answer one question, and nobody answers a question that doesn't change where they end up. Here's WorkForge's plan:

- **What kind of work are you managing?**
  - Client projects: **Who's doing the client work?**
    - An agency team: Agencies
    - Just me: Consultants
  - Building software: Software teams
  - Coaching programs: Coaches
  - Product launches: Ecommerce

You'll need RightMessage [installed on your website](https://rightmessage.com/help/getting-started-with-rightmessage) before you build it.

## 3. Create a flow

A flow is the conversation, and a widget is how it shows up on your site. Creating a flow gives you both. [Flows, widgets, and campaigns](https://rightmessage.com/help/flows-widgets-campaigns) explains how they fit together.

1. Open **Flows**, choose **New flow**, then **Blank flow**.
2. If **Where should this flow show?** appears, select **A new widget**.
3. Under **What kind of widget?**, keep **Toaster**. It slides into the bottom right corner of every page, so you don't need to change your website at all.
4. Give it a name, such as `WorkForge page finder`, and choose **Create flow**.

Nothing you build goes live until you publish, so take your time.

## 4. Ask your questions

1. On the flow canvas, choose **Add the first step**, then **Question**.
2. Under **Segment visitors**, choose **Multiple choice**.
3. Enter your first question and its answers.
4. Leave **Allow multiple answers** off, so each answer gets its own path, then choose **Add to flow**.

Then add your follow-ups. On the path for an answer that still leaves more than one page, such as `Client projects`, choose **+**, then **Question**, and set it up the same way. Answers that already point to one page don't need one.

RightMessage saves each question to your library and creates a segment for each answer, so later you can show different things to people based on what they chose.

## 5. Send each path to its page

1. At the end of a path, choose **+**, then **Offer**.
2. Choose **Create a new offer / promo** and give it a name you'll recognize, such as `Agencies page`.
3. In **Content**, write a short **Headline** and **Description** that tell them why this page fits, and set the **Button text**.
4. Set **Link URL** to the page.
5. Close the drawer. Your changes save to the draft automatically.
6. Do the same for every other path.

## 6. Preview it on your site

Before anything goes live, use the built-in preview to load your draft on your real website.

1. Choose **Preview on your site** in the bar at the bottom of the dashboard. Use **Choose preview URL** if you'd like to start on a different page.
2. Your site opens with your unpublished changes, and the toaster appears in the bottom right corner.
3. Answer the questions and check that you get the follow-up when you should, and that the button takes you to the right page.

![WorkForge website preview after choosing Client projects, with the follow-up Who's doing the client work? in a bottom-right Toaster and the RightMessage debugger docked below in Draft mode](https://rightmessage.com/help/screens/finder-preview-debugger.light.webp)

You'll also see our debugger docked at the bottom of the page. It shows what RightMessage knows about you and why it's showing what it shows, so it's easy to see what's happening. [Testing your changes](https://rightmessage.com/help/best-practices-for-testing) covers how to try each path as a fresh visitor.

## 7. Publish

Once you're happy with it, choose **Publish** and [review your changes](https://rightmessage.com/help/publishing-your-changes). Then visit your site like any other visitor to see it live.

When visitors answer and land on the page that fits them, it's working. Next, [see how it's doing](https://rightmessage.com/help/measure-your-first-journey).
