# Create, switch, and delete projects

Keep separate businesses in their own projects. You'll learn how to add a project, switch between them, or permanently delete one you own.

Keep each unrelated business in its own project, with its own settings and reporting. You can use one login to work across several projects.

[Current subscriptions are per project](https://rightmessage.com/help/project-billing-reference), and every project gets its own 14-day trial. Creating another project doesn't add it to an existing subscription. Legacy account-wide subscriptions have their own project limits.

## Create a project

1. Open the project selector in the top bar.
2. Choose **Add a new project**.
3. Enter **Project Name**, such as [WorkForge](https://workforge.rightmessage.com).
4. Enter your site's address in **Website URL**. For WorkForge, that's `https://workforge.rightmessage.com/`.
5. Choose **Create Project**.
6. In **Set up billing for this project**, choose the project's plan and a card, then choose **Start 14-day trial for this project**. You aren't charged that day.

Your new project opens onboarding. If you see a research warning, you can still use the project. The website might not support automatic research.

A legacy project limit can replace the form with an upgrade message. On legacy account-wide billing or a free account, the existing subscription or free account covers the new project, so you won't see the billing step. If billing setup doesn't finish, the project has no plan yet: you can keep building, and publishing asks you to start its 14-day trial. If billing setup fails after creation, check the project selector before creating another copy. The project may already exist.

If your account has no projects, RightMessage opens a setup page. Choose **Create a new project** to open the same form.

## Switch to another project

1. Open the project selector.
2. Choose the project you'd like to work on.

![Open project switcher listing WorkForge and Help Center Example, with Add a new project below](https://rightmessage.com/help/screens/account-project-switcher.light.webp)

RightMessage opens that project's dashboard. If you have more than six projects, you can search the selector by name or website. Agency-managed projects can have a **Client** label.

**Owned Projects** lists only projects you own. A shared project can appear in the selector without appearing there. To share your own project, [invite a collaborator](https://rightmessage.com/help/inviting-collaborators-to-your-project).

## Delete a project you own

Only an owner can delete a project. To stop future billing, use [subscription cancellation](https://rightmessage.com/help/how-to-cancel-your-account) rather than treating deletion as a billing control.

> **Important**
>
> Project deletion is permanent and can't be undone. Check the project name and handle any subscription cancellation separately before confirming.

1. Switch to a different project first. The selected project's delete button is disabled.
2. Open **Your profile**, then **Owned Projects**.
3. Find the project under **Projects You Own** and choose its trash button.

4. Read **Really Delete This Project?** and check the project name.
5. Choose **Delete** to remove it permanently, or **Cancel** to keep it.

You can no longer work in the deleted project. If you'd rather keep the project and clear its reporting, read about [resetting analytics](https://rightmessage.com/help/export-or-reset-project-data) before deleting anything.
