# May 2025 — Templates, answer scoring, and flow variables

Start with a ready-made flow, give quiz answers points, and remember visitor details for later. You can also control widget dismissal and download your audience data.

You don't have to start every flow from a blank canvas. Ready-made templates, points on individual answers, and saved flow variables give you more ways to build a quiz or recommendation that fits each visitor.

## Start with a flow you can make your own

Browse **Templates**, inspect a flow's branches, and try its preview before adding it to your project. Choose **Install Template** to bring in the flow and its supporting questions and offers, then edit them to fit your business. The new gallery gives you a starting point rather than another empty canvas—here's how to [preview and install a template](https://rightmessage.com/help/flow-templates).

## Give each answer its own points

You can now increase or decrease a score directly from an answer option, without adding a separate data step to every branch. Open **Score For Answer** from the scoring icon beside an answer, choose the score, and set its adjustment. **High Score** also picks up scores from both questions and data steps, so you can [route visitors to a recommendation using their scores](https://rightmessage.com/help/score-and-route-a-quiz).

## Remember details for later flow steps

A **Set Data** step can now save a variable for later steps or return visits in the same browser. Choose **Add / Update Variable**, enter a value, and decide whether it stays saved or expires after a set duration. Values support Liquid, and conditions can check the saved value to decide what comes next; see [storing and expiring flow variables](https://rightmessage.com/help/using-variables-in-flows).

## Decide when a dismissed widget can return

Closing a widget doesn't have to mean seeing it again on the next visit. For widgets that aren't embedded, you can keep them hidden for the current session, a duration you choose, or indefinitely in that browser. You'll find this under **After it's dismissed** in the widget's **Display** settings; the [widget display reference](https://rightmessage.com/help/widget-display-reference) covers the options.

## Take your audience data with you

Project owners can download business context, audience composition, and raw visitor feedback together. Open **Your Data** in project settings and choose **Download Data** to use that information outside RightMessage. Read more about [exporting project data](https://rightmessage.com/help/export-or-reset-project-data).

## Remove recent write-in responses you don't want to keep

You can now delete individual recent open-ended responses, rather than clearing all your analytics to remove a test answer. Response cards also show when the answer arrived, making it easier to spot the one you meant to remove. Today's **Responses** page brings these controls together; see [managing and deleting responses](https://rightmessage.com/help/manage-and-export-responses).

## Show different HTML to different segments

If you edit your website's HTML, you can now define alternate blocks for different visitor segments, with a fallback for everyone else. RightMessage's website script chooses the matching block in the browser, so you can keep the variations together in your page markup. The [HTML personalization guide](https://rightmessage.com/help/manually-personalize-content-using-data-rm-attributes) explains how to set this up.

## Smaller improvements and fixes

- Customer.io contact updates and segment additions now use the correct contact identifier.
- Multiple-choice answers follow the order you've arranged in the editor.
- You can delete an **Exit Flow** step from the canvas again.
- Empty post-submission paths correctly receive their default thank-you message.
- Embedded-widget shortnames now reject spaces and unsupported characters, helping you avoid broken embeds.
- Custom website scripts can look up a contact by email through RightMessage's JavaScript API and receive the contact ID.
