# August 2025 — Input questions, custom-field controls, and email tools

Collect text and numbers in your flows, map answers to your email platform, and give your AI assistant the context it needs to draft personalized emails.

You can collect more than multiple-choice answers: ask visitors for text or numbers, save what they share, and keep the conversation moving. New field-mapping controls and email tools help you put those answers to use in your follow-up.

## Ask visitors for text and numbers

Add a **Question** to your flow and choose **Short text**, **Long text**, or **Number** to collect an answer without creating a branch for every possible response. You can make an answer required, set limits for numbers, and save answers to custom or built-in contact fields in your connected platform. [Long text questions](https://rightmessage.com/help/question-type-long-text) are useful when you want visitors to explain something in their own words.

## Create and map custom fields in one place

When your integration supports field creation, **New** beside the sync field picker opens a dialog with a suggested name, duplicate-name checks, and an **Auto-generate mappings** option. ActiveCampaign and GoHighLevel fields with predefined choices now show those choices in a dropdown, so you can select a valid value instead of typing it from memory. See how to [map answers to contact fields](https://rightmessage.com/help/synchronizing-contact-data-with-your-email-platform-or-crm).

## Keep your connected contact data up to date

Bento custom-field updates now use the correct field names, and ActiveCampaign contact data keeps its tags, lists, and built-in fields in the format your website needs. Customer.io handles both newly submitted email addresses and existing contacts arriving through tracked email links. GoHighLevel connections refresh automatically before their authorization expires, reducing the need to reconnect; the [contact-sync guide](https://rightmessage.com/help/troubleshoot-contact-sync) helps you check a connection that isn't updating.

## Give your AI assistant the right email context

Open your connected integration's **LLM Mappings** tab and choose **Copy to Clipboard** to give your AI assistant your synced questions, answer values, field mappings, and email-template instructions. You can use that context to draft emails around the data you've actually collected, rather than explaining your setup from scratch. The [integration reference](https://rightmessage.com/help/connection-settings-reference) covers the connection page.

## Personalize an email when a field contains a value

Email conditions now support **Contains (partial match)** alongside exact matching. That lets you change wording when a field includes a particular answer, even if it holds several values; the editor and previews recognize those conditions too. See the [email condition reference](https://rightmessage.com/help/email-conditions-reference) for the supported comparisons.

## Show or hide page elements without changing their layout

The visual editor's **Element Visibility** control now gives you three choices: **No change (keep current)**, **Make visible**, and **Hide element**. Showing a previously hidden element restores its original layout rather than forcing it into a different display style, and leaving replacement text blank preserves the page's existing content. The on-site debugger also gives clearer reasons when a campaign doesn't apply, including page mismatches, missing segments, and missing elements. See the [visual editor controls](https://rightmessage.com/help/visual-editor-reference).

## Connect your website code to widget behavior

Your website code can now hide a specific widget, rerun website personalization, and listen for a visitor dismissing a widget. These additions let you coordinate RightMessage with your own page interactions; the [browser JavaScript reference](https://rightmessage.com/help/javascript-hooks) explains the commands and events.

## Smaller improvements and fixes

- Choosing **Other** and submitting a written answer now advances the flow correctly.
- Skipping an optional input question moves to the next step without saving or syncing an empty answer, and back navigation works across input questions and offers.
- Reordering multiple-choice answers now preserves their order when you return to the question.
- Library search stays visible when nothing matches, so you can change or clear your search.
- Bar widgets set to appear immediately no longer wait for the visitor to scroll.
- Page-view conditions correctly handle visit counts, all-time history, and recent time windows.
- Campaign reporting no longer shows zero views and conversions when activity is available.
